1.
I think the difference is that in Europe they get a pretty good rate to other european countries including the UK whereas we get scr**ed as it's seen as somewhere strange... Also they get better weight bands as well.. For instance the Post office have to deliver 30 KG packages from Europe, whereas they appear to have a 15KG limit for UK packages... Why not get the folks in europe to arrange the courier to pick up from you?
I have if you read my post again, it just goes quiet at their end when I suggest that. Julian, I don't know where you got that £25 quote from? or was it tongue in cheek? Northern Ireland isn't cheap either.
2. Martin, I've just bought a minter in that colour
3. This is to do with shipping costs to Europe from the UK. a lot of the time I get asked for a shipping quote to France or Spain or Poland or wherever and the buyer often says 'you should be able to ship that for £25 fully insured to here'. So out of politeness I do the rounds of the companies and very often the cheapest I can get is £68 insured for £50! I don't know where they get these daft quotes from and when I ask them to arrange their own shipping my inbox goes very quiet. I have to say that not everyone does this, it's just a few. So come on guys, get real with the shipping
4. How long have you owned it? Will you post it? (The one I have now was posted so it's no problem if you can box it securely)
5. My local Ryder shop has mysteriously closed down... hmmm...
6. Before you all start, I have a Blueburst Fantastic basses, I recommend someone buys it now. Well go on then! Hurry or you'll miss it.

8.
Anybody seen a red, rosewood 'board bass in an SR shop recently? George
I have one if you're interested.

12. Bumpit, need it sold, great bass but I'm a G&L man now
13. Thank you for the explanation, never heard of anything like that before and I bet it's an amazing experience. I only play in churches so it would be a bit wasted on me. Good luck with the sale tho'
14. I still have 4 Ryders soon to be 3. My navy blue/maple is stunning with just a bass doc pickguard and a setup. Got a wiz area51 pickup for it so that's going in next. I don't really know why I'm doing it when I have G&L's and some good Fenders..... Oh that's right, I'm retired and a bit bored
15.
OK - thanks so much for the input everyone! It's really helped. There doesn't seem to be a clear 'winner' and most agree that both sound comparable. My fav is Bass 1 - for me it sounds more solid and more snappy/instant with the slap stuff. You won't believe this but Bass 1 is a £130 short scale Chinese built Richwood (see below) Bass 2 is my beautiful '97 Warwick Streamer LX (currently for sale) which now sell for £1400 upwards! Now to be fair, the Richwood has been modified with a Badass II, Dimarzio Pickups and an EMG 2- band eq. But still it seems unreal that the sound would be even close in quality to a bass costing 10 x as much! You see I really love this Richwood and use it as my main bass, but something was niggling at me saying 'it can't really sound any good, can it?'. I mainly love the bass for it's short scale as my fingers are short. In conclusion I'd say a lot of folk did warm to the more sophisticated sound of the Warwick, but the Richwood was percieved as a Jazz bass (that's the way I think of it) and a damn good one at that!
I used to sell Richwood Guitars & Basses and the one you are holding was a great bass even in standard form, they came in red with gold fittings too. Great playing
16. I hardly dare to ask.... But what is it? There, I've asked what 2000 people want to ask but didn't dare because they would lose face
