  1. Thanks guys, ended up buying the Art promix and it's perfect.
  2. Good choice Hookey, I've modded 3 of these now. Changed the necks for their 35 quid maple board ones, had to dress the edges of the frets, (whaddya want for 35 quid?) but it's no big deal. All 3 necks are straight and true. One of them has a Dimarzio dp 127 and it's absolutely brilliant! Got John on here to make me a proper loom for it and fitted an expensive Schaller bridge and I have a really good P bass that I would put up against any other P bass. All 3 weigh 6.1 lbs each. The others are configured a bit differently. No neck dive either although lightweight tuners are fitted. The necks are only 61mm but their maple ones are too so no problem. hope that helps. **edit** your MIM neck probably won't fit as they are 63mm?
  3. I think Cetera on here had or still has a double P bass for sale, can't remember what it was tho..
  4. Yes, some earlier models were a bit loud and the preamp was pretty useless. These are a much better bass in every respect.
  5. Yes you did sir, my fingers are shot with arthur ritis and I'm struggling to play anything at the moment.
  6. The only song I know from that lot is baggy trousers and I wouldn't know how to play it. Am I too old now?
  7. Hi Morris, I do need a smaller solution hence the Art, I don't want to drag my Yamaha mixer down there really. Thanks for the input.
  8. That looks perfect, I can't see any drawbacks with it? It won't be plugged into a mixer, just and aux input on a big powered speaker.
  9. Thanks Grandad, I was hoping for something a bit cheaper and less complicated, I did see one on thomann for 25 quid but can't find it now...
  10. As title, I need to run 3x mikes (SM58's) from 1 acoustic amp, the amp has 48v phantom power so I suppose any splitter won't need it? I am a complete novice at this and only know what I've read on the internet. Any advice gratefully received on which box and even if I'm doing it right. Thanks, Tom.
  11. Young Joseph is a man of impeccable taste as he bought my Dimarzio pickup, I'm sure he'll love it. Very fast payment, great friendly comms, can't get better and a real asset to Basschat. Thank you, Tom.
  12. Hi Michael, hope you're well? I'm thinking of this: https://www.gear4music.com/PA-DJ-and-Lighting/SubZero-SZPA-P10X-Battery-Powered-Portable-PA-System-with-Bluetooth/1RPN we are doing more outside gigs than before so that tempts me, 120 watts, what's not to like? My wife no has a Laney Alfresco battery jobby for her 12 string, 30w and it's brilliant, let me know what you think. tom. PS when can I have the stingray back?
  13. As title, one of the best P pickups on the market in my opinion. Bought from here then realised I already had one So on offer for what I paid for it. will come in the box. Free delivery to UK address.
  14. FIRST! This is NOT my one with the neck repair, I'm keeping that because I like it a lot but I can't justify 2 of them so this is up for grabs. Bought April this year and is in fantastic condition, low action no rattles. This model is the one with the tamed pickups & active circuit and is much more controllable. Also the volume pot has a slight bend on it but it doesn't affect anything. The straplocks will be changed back to the originals, the price includes delivery to UK. Pics:
  15. Does it have a cringe spindle?or a waffle sprocket?
  16. Great guy to deal with, swift payment, Basschat at its best. Thanks, Tom.
  17. Hahahahahahahaha, weeks you mean Hope you're well Rich.
  18. Hi, yes I got the superlux and stood it inside the cajon on a teatowel and the results were better than anything else including the SM57. I've come into this with very little knowledge hence the post. It seems to me that I need an amp with Phantom power such as an acoustic amp which my wife plays her taylor 12 string through. That gave a decent sound. I also have a 350w speaker, a bishopsound one that plays the keyboard, 12 string and bass just fine but I can barely hear the cajon through it. I did fit a cheap one of the above stick on pickup on and that did nowt through anything. So.... is there a definitive amp that'll give good volume without maxing out?
