  1. Bass is an Ibanez Mezzo with EMG P/J set fitted, So it's just a matter of fiddling about with pickup heights until you arrive at the optimal 'spot'?
  2. Does anyone know how to fix uneven string volumes please? My A string is always louder and beefier than the rest, the others sound thin in comparison. How can I get them all similar? Any thoughts much appreciated. Thanks, Tom.
  3. My collection is going up for sale. Here we have a very nice Washburn AB-20. It's in wonderful condition and around 30 years old. Built in eq, sounds lovely. I bought this to see if I could get away with playing a lighter bass but to be truthful, there are 2 reasons I cannot get away with these. 1, my stomach gets in the way, 2, I don't like rosewood boards. I know I know, why did I buy it then? The weight was really tempting for my bad back so I thought 'bit of practice and I'll be fine. Yeah right... so this lovely bass is up for grabs. Comes with a Washburn hard case and it's been lovingly cared for all its life. If you need to know more drop me a pm. Tom. SOLD.
  4. I can't do longscale basses any more and I have a lot of them so here's the first, A wonderful SX P bass in the best colour scheme imo. Plays really well, low action and well worth what I'm asking for it.It's in excellent condition, my stuff is very carefully looked after. Only gigged 3 or 4 times but I can't play it now as I have rheumatoid arthritis in both wrists and thumbs. I can still play in a limited but on 32 or 30" scale with a narrow neck. Well I am 77 years old. No gig bag but can be very well packed. Thanks for looking.
  5. I bought this recently and have to say it has a great tone and plenty of power for practice and coffee shop gigs. The compression on it is very good and useful for a bit more beef. This is where the but comes in for me, the gigs I play at are usually churches which can be quite big or quite small so I'll need a bit more output than this has so it's up for sale for what I paid for it. It's in mint condition and comes with all leads and a pedal for turning the compression on or off. Postage is £7, or free collection from TS148PB. Thanks for reading. would part ex for similar size amp with more power.

  6. I love these Mike, I don't know if I could manage 5 strings...
  7. Shame you're so far away Rich, I'd have it if you'd courier it.
  8. Thanks very much guys, Great info, I am going to try some of the strings suggested. Watch this space.....
  9. Great info guys, thanks. The strings I tried were 34" scale and I was careful about where I cut the end so I didn't have 34 turns around a very narrow capstan. They still snapped though. I'm wary of buying any more until I know they won't snap again. Roundwounds are no problem, ever.
  10. Thanks guys, the tuner capstan is small on the ibanez mezzo so I guess that's the problem, it started to tighten then unravelled. I only tried 2 strings and they both did the same thing, I cut the length in the usual way so I don't know where to go with this now. Any ideas on how to fit flats on a 32 scale? Where can I get the right strings? Thanks.
  11. Thanks for that, This is the second set and it's done the same thing, I tried Olympia first then Adagio and both did the same thing, the string unravelled then snapped. Not sure what to do now.... Tom.
  12. Yes I am, I couldn't find any for a 32" scale, is that the problem do you think? Thanks.
  13. Can anyone explain to me why when I've tried to fit a new set of flatwounds to my 32" scale Ibanez, every string snaps at the tuner when I try to tighten the string? Normal roundwounds are no problem. I'm at a loss. Thanks.
  14. Was mine, it's a cracking bass even as standard, if you like 32" scale, just buy it it's a great bass. GLWTS.
  15. I have had this bass on loan for a week and can attest to it being fabulous to play, light as anything and I have a glass back. You won't regret buying this. GLWTS Pete.
  16. This is my immaculate Squier Jaguar, bought to do something different with but never happened. Has a great action, sounds good. It's 32" scale. Reduced, now £145
  17. Can you post it to teesside please? I've sent loads of combos with a courier.
  18. Thanks for the input guys, there's a lot to think about here so I'll look through all the suggestions and make a decision.
  19. Looking for a good not too expensive electro acoustic bass. Anyone recommend any particular one or ones to avoid please? Thanks.
  20. Hi yes it is, pm would be better if possible, thanks. I missed your question, sorry.
  21. Here we have a pair of Peavey PR12's, in excellent condition with slipover covers. Only used for about 6 performances at fairly big venues.
