Hi all - I have a 3TS Fender US Special P-Bass and have been looking for inexpensive replacement pickgaurds just to try some other colours.. possible a tort and a black. I found these on Amazon and there are a number of others around the same price point. Has anyone had any experience of these or similar ?. I realise you get what you pay for and they won't be to original Fender standard. https://www.amazon.c...Bpickguard&th=1 Cheers..
Just ordered a cream pearl from amazon and what I didn't see was that it's coming from china no wonder it isn't coming until early october. Still, no rush.

Hiya, here we have a new Gear4music rosewood neck, in excellent condition. The fret edges are remarkably good for a cheap neck, trussrod works fine. Complete with tuners. The heel is 61 and a bit mm and looks to be 42mm at the 1st fret. Price is posted, it's not cheap to send a neck. This is getting to be a regular but happy chore for me, just bought an Aiken bass off Mike and as usual the deal was quick, packed to stand a big explosion and sent very quickly. Comm's as usual were top notch all the way. Cheers Mike and thanks.

Hey guys, here is my JB-2 for sale whch I bought new a few months ago. It's up because my Precisions are getting all the use, especially the home made ones. It's got a low action and plays exactly as it should. These are powerful basses and sound great. There is a small chip to the paint on the top near the neck pocket, I can't get it to show up on camera but if you didn't know it was there you would have trouble seeing it. The top grain is pretty special too. Price is delivered by courier. Definately much more power but very good definition, to me better than a US fender pickup but not by a lot, have to say.
Post some pictures Tom
Ok this is it: One of the best players I've ever had. It's very light, body is Pawlonia, you need light tuners to avoid the slight neck heaviness, I used wilko's. Cheap but good project.
-
Totally agree. I just bought a P bass for 35 quid off Gear4music, also bought one of their 35 quid necks and fettled it by filing the edges and rolling the neck to make it easier to play. I fitted some lightweight wilkinson tuners, a new Dimarzio DP127 pickup and a spare KiOgon loom I had in the drawer. Now I have a gorgeous black bass that is very light (7.5 lbs) and sounds like thunder, it's almost perfick. I love messing about like this. Actually it would be even cheaper if I sold the rosewood neck.....
-
I've heard that the volume is a bit 'on off' on these and while they play like butter it can get a bit messy. (Sorry I'll get me coat) Looks seriously nice, I love the neck! Glad you're happy with it.
-
Just a thought for the future, Gear4music do a maple or rosewood neck for about 37 quid, I bought the maple one and it's brilliant.

Set of tuners in 'black chrome' bought from here a couiple of years ago and I was told they were Fender but I really don't know. They seem like decent quality. I haven't used them, I put them in a drawer and forgot about them. Price is posted. £20 POSTED. **shafts look to be 12mm** Pics:
