3. I don't know if it helps but Gearformusic give you 28 days to return anything for a refund, I've done it a few times myself, free collection too. you wouldn't lose anything that way. HTH.
4. I've just had the pleasure of selling a bass to Will, communication was excellent and friendly, the payment was very fast and the deal concluded very quickly. Absolute gentleman, scholar and acrobat please deal with confidence. thanks Will. Tom.

6. It would be helpful if we all knew where in the world you are?

9. Hi all, here is my Spector Rebop in beautiful Zebrawood, it's in really good condition, made in the Czech republic it's a very well put together bass. It has the famous tone pump fitted so it's active and all working as it should. I don't know much about them and bought it on a whim, I'm sticking with my Precisions so it has to go on the principle of 4 in and one out The previous owner bought it in 2008 from the bass merchant down in good ol' Essex. It does have a couple of lacquer cracks on the back but that's all they are, everywhere else is superb. Price is delivered. pics:
10. Well my deko progessive has arrived https://www.thomann.de/gb/harley_benton_b_450_black_progressiv_deko.htm nothing I can see apart from a mark where the neck bolts on, neck was a bit bow shaped but got that straightened out and it plays fine, very powerful and very controllable. Happy boy...
11. Just bought this for £46 delivered. https://www.thomann.de/gb/harley_benton_b_450_black_progressiv_deko.htm hopefully it's ok, doesn't say what's wrong with it......
12. Nah, he's not into jazz..... and not old enough to care.
13.
Surely if you have more people that is needed, ie, you've doubled up on some instruments, it could be run like most Sunday league football teams? If you don't turn up for training, you don't play at the weekend! And as he'd not bothered with rehearsals...
My feeling exactly, he's never asked if he could come along let alone asked me if I was ok with it, just bad manners imo
I recall someone in the BC community (can't remember who) saying something like "if you're going to play in a worship group, do it for spiritual reasons rather than musical ones, otherwise you'll be conflicted". Having said that, I'm with the OP on this. "Community" also means asking " would it be OK if...?" or "do you think it would work if...?". Not just turning up!
again totally agree. thanks for all your input guys, I feel a bit better about stopping him playing this sunday now. I'll report back when I see what happens on the day
14. soooo it's not me then.
I can imagine a scenario where someone well-meaning and trying to be inclusive, yet unconnected with the running of the band, said something to him like, "Oh, you play the an instrument? You must play with our band!"
This is the most likely scenario but I think he just turned up and pleased himself I'm waiting to see if there's any fallout over me telling him to not play this sunday, don't really care if there is. The worship leader is my wife and she said 'if I'd known you were going to ring him I'd have stopped you and done it myself' she totally supports me with it, I'm not known for my tact and diplomacy, I'm quite blunt and in church circles you have to be able to tell someone to go to hell in such a way that they look forward to the trip.
15. haha, you lot are priceless! He uses his own mike plugged into the church PA, I use a 300w Trace elliott which is VERY loud. I have said to him why not play when I'm not here but I think he just likes the big events
16. My USA P is that colour, amazing.
17. A lot of you know I play in a church music group. Instrument wise we have 1x 12 string, 1x 6 string, me on bass and a keyboard player + 4 or 5 singers. Bear with me here. about 3 months ago we had a new youth worker start at the church, he happens to play a double bass, our minister recently retired and we had a farewell service for her and the church was full. Imagine my surprise when I arrived to find the youth worker there with his DB. I asked him if he was going to play it alongside me and he said yes. I said one bass is enough for a small band like ours but he played anyway. This guy never asked if it was ok to play, never came to a practice or said anything to us which I thought was damned rude! Long story short it is our new minister's induction service this sunday so I rang this guy and asked if he was planning to play again and he said yes so I asked him not to and after some to'ing and fro'ing he backed down. Am I being too precious about this? I really think his manners and etiquette are poor. thanks.
18.

uh oh....... look out folks, Karl's wife will be up for sale next Looks like a good-un George
19.
Can't speak about the basses, but the 12 string Revelation jazzmaster guitar my band mate has is good enough to convince me to buy one at around £220.00.
I couldn't find it on their site?
