1. Thanks for that, much as I like it it's just too heavy for me but good luck with the sale. You have some stunning basses.
2. You are a bad man Marinus looks lovely. Ok what does it weigh? so there is a rout for a P pickup there still? what was the drilled hole for? Finally the width of the neck at the nut & 12th fret please. Thanks & regards.
3. Need one for my hifi separates system, how wide is it? ta.
4. I used to sell John's guitars in my shop and these basses are excellent for the money. GLWTS
5. Eat? what is this 'eat'? If it had a maple board I'd probably have about 6 by now, lovely bass, GLWTS.
6. No wonder our southern friends are such good players, you have all the teachers. Up north we have to teach ourselves.....
7. It always amuses me that a seller with a £4000 bass puts up a couple of scratty little pics that show no detail at all. People won't spend that kind of money without detailed pictures. GLWTS
8. What he said ^^^ Same again, superb bass and I wouldn't sell it for the world.
9. I bought a P with my name on it (Legend) off ebay for 40 quid delivered. Plywood body and generic everything but the neck is fabulous and has the worn in feel to it, and it's maple! So I was bored and sanded the 3 colour sunburst down and sprayed it post office red, firred a gotoh bridge, fender tuners and a usa pickup. The result is a superb, easy to play bass with some real grunt.. weighs 7.8 lbs... but you've heard all this before haven't you? So I won't bore you with it.......
10. 7.4lbs
11. That just looks perfect Marinus, if it had a maple board I'd be in trouble
12. Solidarity sticker in Polish too, supports a variety of causes
13. Same colours as my P Lyte and that now has a maple board, hmm, what does it weigh please?
14.
This is the crux of the matter. It boils down to the fact that if you're not actually in pain yourself then it's hard to understand that other people can be, and for what reason. It's like a friend telling you to 'snap out of it' when you're actually clinically depressed. If you've never suffered from depression there is no way you can appreciate how debilitating it really is. Personally I've never suffered from pain brought on by a too-heavy bass thank God, but I sure as hell suffer pain from an unrelated condition, so can sympathise. However, I do prefer light basses purely because I find them easier to play, and for longer. Plus, I'm sure there are quite a few, er... 'older' bass players on this forum (including myself) who have noticed all sorts of aches and pains that start to manifest themselves over time as our bodies become less flexible and weaker and we approach the time when we finally join the choir invisible. And what a fine day that will be as the angels of the LORD, in all their splendour... (cont p.94)
Amen to that, I'm 70 next year but mentally 21 still so I have a young outlook on life. I've had a really bad back for more years than I can remember so my P Lyte at 7.5 lbs is perfect. I had John Shuker make me a maple board and he fitted me an SD-SPB1 pickup and it's perfect now, one of the best basses I've ever owned. So good I'm looking for another to give it the same treatment and have it for a backup. I have to say though that standing there with my USA P bass is a great feeling, just too heavy.
15.
Erm ... what?
I think he means 'fat'?

18. I have the 4 string version of this and it is a great bass, fretless conversion too? That is a bargain. GLWTS
19.
They could have picked a better one to take a photo of.
haha you're right there, this is actually a Vintage Modified P bass lumped in with the Affinities so I'm happy.
20. Just bought one of these again although they only do it as a kit http://www.thomann.de/gb/fender_squier_affinity_p_bass_set_bb.htm beautifully made with a big thump.
