1. I have a mint one of these and can confirm that they are excellent, even got the hardcase. Bargain for someone
2. Thanks guys, corrected the mastike now, it really is a great bass if you're a young whippersnapper with a liking for Jazz necks
3. In my quest for a lightweight P bass this is my next one for sale. I bought it a few months ago and much as I like it I can't get used to a Jazz neck so it's going. It weighs about 9 lbs, plays like a dream and has no issues. Looking for £300 posted to the UK. I'm sure I can find a gigbag to pack it in. 4. Replied to several pm's, better hurry if you want it, the guy I bought it from is interested in having it back too
5. Thanks guys, I'll look into the Ramone Karl. Skelf, that's an idea too but I don't really have the time or skill to start messing about so it's easier to offer it to someone else. FF if it had a filter preamp someone would come along and want a U retro can't win.
6. Hi all, I recently bought this gorgeous bass because of the very light weight, just 7.5 lbs and just look at it, feels great to hold and the balance is just right. It's this one: http://www.acguitars...io/g025-finn-4/ Here is some info from the previous owner: Neck wise, I'd say somewhere between a P than a J but it's been a while since I've played a Fender though so my calibration may be slightly out. Nice to get around on and the asymmetric carve and flat board is great. The condition really is like new. Oddly enough this is the one ACG that I have only ever used at home for practice. The Minimum Lacquer Finish allows you to just feel the grain on the Wenge top. The back and neck are both satin smooth. The Maple board is acrylic impregnated so dead easy to maintain and keep clean. What the ACG website doesn't say is that this bass was the spritual forerunner to the Uber Graft series as the spec is identical and it also has a Zebrano veneer between the top and the main body wood. Plus the higher spec tuners than the normal graft basses had. It's completely unique as well as being the only Graft bass of any spec with a Wenge top. The controls from the stack nearest the neck and working back towards the jack socket are as follows; 'Front' stack: Top volume / bottom pickup blend Middle stack: Top treble boost & cut / bottom bass boost only 'Rear' stack: Top mid boost & cut / bottom variable mids frequency The reason I'm selling this now is that I can't get used to the U Retro, being a P bass user for most of my (short) career it's just too much fiddling about for me and no reflection on the bass. The bass has comes with a standard ACG issue Fusion gig bag in equally good condition I would be interested in a trade for a lightwewight Precision but nothing else I'm afraid and as always, cash is king. Thanks for looking. 7. Got the same bass, unbeatable but the weight is killing me with my back, it's only 9.5 lbs but too much. It has the loudest pickup of any bass I've owned. well done that man.
8. Just bought an ACG from Alain, met up in Batley for a quick chat and handover. Really nice guy, bass is lovely, great deal and super basschatter, everything as described. Thanks Alain.
9.
Glad to hear that you have your GAS sorted, but what about your back? Sounds to me like you would benefit from doing something about your back problem rather than simply buying a lighter bass. Just saying ...
I think you've said this before young man and my reply is the same. I have a condition that no amount of exercise or books is going to fix so a light bass is the only way that I can carry on playing. I appreciate you are all trying to help but for reasons that I'm not going into on a public forum what you suggest won't hack it for me. thanks and no offence meant
10. Hiya, anyone have a link to somewhere that sells neck dots? the removable kind please. Ta.
11. are like.... well I won't go there. My Godin is a solid bodied electric guitar and it's fab. I have been contacted by a member who is selling an ACG graft P/J fretted bass with a maple board that weighs just 7lbs and that is ideal for me. Getting it on Thursday and looking forward to it. Thanks for all your help guys, it's very much appreciated. In the fullness of time I will get an Elwood 4A red custom because it looks bloomin' amazin'!
12. Just had a look at your Godin, I have massive respect for them as my electric guitar is Godin, best I've ever tried. Your bass has had a lot done and it must sound tremendous but it has a rosewood neck which I can't get used to. It's one of the reasons my P Lyte is still in its bag The weight of yours is ideal.
13. For some reason this excites me http://www.public-peace.de/index.php/bass-guitars/maruszczyk/elwood/4-string
14. Wow, thanks for the ideas folks, some great advice there! That HMT looks amazing, please sell it to me ..... NOW! Also love the idea of the Godin, that would probably be my first choice at the moment but I should explore possibilities with my Lyte first, bit nervous of going into the rats nest that is the wiring Used to sell Dano's at my shop, struggled to get any of them with a low action.....maybe worth another look. Played about 16 songs in church this morning and I'm pretty crippled right now How are you Karl m'boy?
15. Hey guys n gals, My lower back has really got a lot worse and I'm struggling to stand for more than a few minutes at a time holding my MIM Precision. It weighs about 9 lbs but it's way too much now especially with our church's biggest Sunday coming up and 15 songs to play My wife is going to fund a new bass until I can sell the 2 that I have so ideally I would love a Fender precision again but it would have to be seriously lighter, could you make some suggestions on which way to go with this please? I would consider others but it must have a maple board. I do have a Precision Lyte but the pickup to my ears isn't very powerful and as it's mint I don't want to mess with the electrics to upgrade it, plus it's rosewood. thanks for any advice.
16. I just like the modern Precisions, slim neck, err.. 4 strings and a maple board + lightweight, white or red, simple controls for a simple soul. Job done. I have all the above except lightweight, still looking for that.
17. Sorry for the delay, what do you have in mind chief? a good 6 string electro acoustic or a minty precision would go down well.
18. Guys, thanks for the input, I don't use the bridge J pickup at all, I do like the SPB-1 sound, it's perfect for me so I'll replace the stock one for that and see what it's like. My back's quite bad again so I need to do something. Just wanted to check that I wouldn't do any damage.
19. To add to the above, Steve bought my Retrovibe and it was a very smooth deal, paid extremely promptly with good friendly emails. Another good guy to deal with. Thanks Steve.
20. Bump for a stunning 12 string.. here's a demo: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uZq_5hTqMZs
