Ok slight hitch, Plugged in last night and there is constant crackling, a bit like a faulty lead or jack socket. Changed basses and it stopped so there's summat wrong with it. Going to ring Gear for music when they open to test the CS. At the practice on tuesday my guitar playing wife said it sounded a bit 'off', as though it wasn't quite in tune but it was. Intonation is fine but the E string has a funny sort of resonance to it. Can't explain that though, Oh and I did put a new battery in but it's just the same. I picked up my P/J Lyte up and it felt really clunky after the Ibby. I'll post back soon.

Arrived today from Gear for music, great firm to deal with. The bass: http://www.gear4music.com/Guitar-and-Bass/Ibanez-SR300M-Bass-Guitar-Soda-Blue-FREE-Pro-Gig-Bag/12OF?origin=product-ads&campaign=PLA+Shop+-+Ibanez&medium=vertical_search&network=google&adgroup=Ibanez+SR300M+Bass+Guitar.+Soda+Blue+FREE+Pro+Gig+Bag&merchant_id=1279443&product_id=50127d1&product_country=GB&product_partition_id=86005347679&gclid=CjwKEAiAhcGjBRDot_fjjtPKrgsSJACNYh760KrV-8OMNildTULbcG4cD58QDBuxPqzGvz2sRMiy5RoCCanw_wcB I've had one before and sold it which was a mistake, this one is probably the best setup bass I've ever seen, the neck is arrow straight and the action out of the box is unreal! very very low all the way up the neck with no rattles, Perfect! Such a light instrument too and the pickups are very loud and seem very versatile. I paid less for it as I've just bought an amp there, the gig bag is also top quality. This could well end up being my main bass Nothing to criticise at all.

Here for sale is my BG 250 amp. I'ts in perfect working order with plenty of power. Spec:

250 Watts
TonePrint® technology
Built-in bass tuner
TubeDrive featuring tube pre- and power amp emulation
Bass contoured tone controls
Rehearsal input for playback in speaker or headphones
Balanced out for seamless recording or PA output
High power headphone output for silent rehearsal
I don't really want to sell this, in fact I bought it because it was so light, it only weighs 35lb! trouble for me and my back is that it only has a carry handle on the top so I'm still struggling to carry it, and I'm sorry but my wife just doesn't look right walking into a church with it and me sauntering in behind so it has to go. Dunno what I'm going to get next Sorry the pics are a bit blurred, the focus on my dslr has just decided to go awol. thanks for looking.

Hi all, I have a P lyte and the P pickup to my ears doesn't have a lot of grunt so I'm wondering if my spare SD SPB-1 would directly replace it? Does the fact that the Lyte is active matter? Thanks for any guidance.
Wet Saturday bump, come on, somebody must think this is gorgeous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I do !! already bought one off you in black/grey can I justify another? hmm, lovin' the colour of this one..... Can't you sell something I don't like? -
Hiya Meddle, every G&L I've had before these two had a low and level action from the nut to the last fret, it's the main reason for buying one for me, well apart from the versatility of it. There is still adjustment left on the saddles albeit not much on the E & G strings, my problem is that the action starts off perfect for the first 3 frets or so and gets progressively higher all the way to the end which suggests to me that the nut is cut low?? I mostly play between the 5th & 12th frets, I've had the neck set straight as a die but it rattles if I try to get any lower which, could be down to a high fret here and there, I just don't know so I'm going to contact them to see what they can do.

Discreet, I favour option 3 Yeah done the truss rod Romeo, I have quite a bit of experience setting up basses and guitars but as Yorkie says I shouldn't have to be putting super glue in the nut slots (not my idea btw) to get it right, tilting won't do much either as there is still adjustment on the saddles. I'll probably end up emailing them this time....

Well the Thomann special arrived today. I forgot to mention that I've already had one of these and sent it back with a crackly jack socket and a poor action that I couldn't get low enough, they were dearer then, about £320. This new one ended up at £288 delivered BUT, same action problem!! The bass looks perfect, just the action. the strings look deep in the nut and as a result the action won't go low enough at the dusty end. Before I dabbled with these I'd owned 4 Tributes and they were perfect out of the box. I've come to the conclusion that this is why they're cheap. Debating what to do next, any thoughts?
