  1. Hiya, up for grabs is a set of smoked chrome Tuners, sold to me by StevieD Fender P off here as Schallers, I don't know if they are but they do seem very good quality, there is a letter C stamped on them. The stems are narrower than normal at 12mm. The spacers are included but no screws. 2. Is there a battery with it? What colour is it? thanks.
  3. That looks a bit special Karl, I'm untemptable at the moment. (Ann says so) GLWTS mate.
  4. ok tv is on it's way back the optical out and the headphone socket are not working, just my usual luck. ordered a used, guaranteed one the same as we had before, at least it was much better quality and picture. thanks again for your help guys.
  5. That sounds like an excellent buy. If I don't get anywhere with my current setup I'll talk to them.
  6. Cheers for that, I don't have phono inputs on the amp, the headphone socket on the new tv doesn't work. It shuts the sound off the tele but there is nothing coming out of the headphones. My amp inputs are: Two 3.5 mini jacks for front & centre and rear and sub An optical that doesn't seem to work One coax phono input Gonna ring samsung today and see what gives.
  7. Thanks Howie, I have done everything you suggest above 'ie changed to external sound/speakers but nothing works. My headphone socket won't work either so I'm getting really p$$d off with it now. thanks for your help.
  8. One final thing, I am a retired guitar/music shop owner so I can see both sides of this and the shop owner is sadly right in what he says. But you know what? I would have met you halfway and gave you a discount or a partial refund, that's all you wanted, right? Just a sign that your gripe was recognised. I have always taken the long view regarding customers and would'nt have taken that inflexible attitude with anyone. Nobody wins an argument with a customer. Good luck!
  9. I'm very new to all this, the cable does light up when plugged in to the tv, does that mean it's transmitting signal? I have selected the optical on the amp, the light under where it says Optical is green?
  10. We have Virginmedia with a Tivo box. Had a look at that and tried the optical out of that, same as the tele, the amp isn't working via that.
  11. Steve, you posted just before I did, that looks good, I don't have phono in to the amp, just left and right minijacks....
  12. Thanks for that, Here is the back of my amp and its connections: http://ixbtlabs.com/articles/inspire5700vsdtt3500/5700decoder-back.jpg I have been using either the front or rear analog outputs, the other end went into the old tv's audio outs left and right using 2 phono plugs. The optical is a possibility but when I plug the lead in to it nothing happens, it seems to work from the tv end as there is a light on the end of the cable. On the tv I have these: http://www.hdtvtest.co.uk/image/hdtv/Samsung-UE40H6400/connections.jpg can you see how it could connect? thanks.
  13. Hi all, My TV conked out last week, it was a 40" samsung about 7 years old and I had connected to it a set of cambridge sound works 5'1 speakers which only worked in stereo but was effin' loud and thumpy. The tv that the insurance company has replaced it with is a samsung UE40H6400 which is very nice but I can't get the sound to work. It only has IR, Optical and headphone out and nothing works with my old amp so... I need (I think) a receiver with hdmi and all the speaker inputs + optical??? Can anyone help me out with recommendations on what to buy please? I'm not well off so go easy please The speakers and sub are all excellent with phono connections so I think I just need an amp? thanks guys.
  14. I had a sunburst Jazz and it was great in every way but one. It was VERY heavy.
  15. Any good? Anyone tried one? thanks.
  16. These are fantastic basses, I've just bought a new one (again ) Missed this one. It's a bargain folks, so versatile and powerful.
  17. What's DAW?
  18. I could, but it's a faff on when trying to sit down so the service can carry on. So, I think I have a solution, I changed my cable for an OBBM one I forgot I had and got an immediate cut in the gain buzz. So I tried a few different kettle leads and bingo! down to an acceptable level. Just to add that when I unplugged my bass cable the noise stopped dead, I've never known a cable make such a huge difference. I'm fairly new to all this as I played a 12 string guitar since the mid 60's, that was much easier to amp up
  19. Ah, some good points here, thanks for that. My P basses are 1x MIM and 2x Squier, 1 Chris Aiken with a SPB-1 fitted and a VM P with the same. I'll go and try the leads and see where that goes.
  20. Hiya, seems a bit of a daft statement but playing in a church can be noisy, we usually have about 20 mins of absolute quiet while the Minister talks. The problem is the humming noise that comes from having a small amount of gain on. Are all amps like this? For instance we were out last night using my TC electronics 1x 15 combo again with the gain on about quarter and the volume quite high. So am I doing anything wrong with settings? Or is there a quieter amp that doesn't buzz when you put a bit of gain on? I realise this is a unique problem but there must be a way round it. thanks!
  21. I use a TE AH300-7, 1x15 in our church, it never goes anywhere else (weight) and is for my use the best thing since candy floss. Very powerful thing rated at 300w but feels more. Anybody know how old this might be? It has the black/green cloth.
  22. Quick update. The mixer has added a lot of volume to the mikes so the way we work it now is to put her 12 string direct to the roland speaker and the mike through the mixer first. It all works great now. Thanks to everyone for their input.
  23. What's the width at the heel please?
