Noooooooooooo. I have just bought a duff one of these that needs repairing for this price. If you get desperate, I 'll give you £30 to save me the effort of replacing two of the encoders ;-) Thanks Mike
I have it advertised elsewhere for £80.. but i'm giving you lot a bargain
MB1. ...Thats a saving of £90! BUMP!
... damn, so it is

Regardless of bearing the Behringer name, these things are used by everyone from Exile to Daft Punk - they offer so many encoders, and options at such a low price its hard to say no. This one is in very good condition, works perfectly. Anyway i need cash, quickly so i'm looking at £40! These retail at like £130... so, do the maths!
Nooo! Not fair at all! I knew Lucie was out, but not about all this stuff!! arrghhh!!! I hate you Simon! You were the only sane one there! Kicking out (effectively) one of the best talents, and the only eye candy! - next thing you know cheryl will be mysteriously voted out...
Meh, i thought she was crap and Cheryl will always be enough eye candy for any show, any more would be spoiling us.
I think you've got a point there about the headroom compromise. Maybe Matamp could have tweaked it to my liking but i just thought it would be easier to get a sound closer to what i want out of the box,so to speak.
Fair enough, i suppose being overseas as well must brought into consideration. I think i'm just jealous because i badly want a Matamp!

Those who had made the trip to the Matamp factory

I reckon i'll just transfer the money i don't need from my bank account, into paypal - so it doesn't get used - and start up a Matamp fund. In the mean time i'll concern myself with what i fancy it to sound like. I'm hoping they'll be able to do something so as to provide enough clean headroom... -
The Mywatt 400 is, as far as i understand, simply a Hiwatt 400 clone. I also understand that Matamp make Hiwatt's custom line now. It is also commonly thought that Hiwatt's have a fair bit of clean headroom, at the consequential, sacrafice of warmth of character, or drive - the main reason i'd get a valve amp! its your call, but i can't imagine there wouldn't have been anything Matamp couldn't have tweaked to voice the amp in the way you so desire.

I'm biding my time to give the call; saving up the pennies before blowing it all on Matamp goodness. I get the impression that if i call now to get details then i'd just want to buy straight off. -
I'll be trying to give mine the update, but i'm not sure if i trust my ability yet. I've got an E-MU 0404 USB Audio interface, that i reckon i can put it through. I'm on a macbook, running leopard... we'll see.
...Crossing fingers that the 112 combo is stable, I think at this stage a single failure doesn't mean much - there's a few guys on talkbass that have been using the tecamp stuff for quite a while. We'll see.
Well, you know where to find me if you want to sell it Seriously

I"m holding off updating mine whilst more info accumulates! What are the big advantages anyway? I'm already a huge fan of the M9, it sounded incredible - especially delays/'verbs!

I'd quite enjoy hearing Thornybank's response to this question. I imagine the figure would be incomprehendible. Myself... i minda need to buy one.

Any ideas when the 1000W one will surface?

Yeah, i think finishing my degree is a given. I don't think i'm a good enough musician to do anything but originals haha.
Well that depends. If you want a job that requires a degree then it's an easy decision. I'm sure going to uni and being in a band can be do-able.
The drummer has a history degree already and is in a stable job. The other two are working towards their second degree's (in music) and i imagine when they graduate next year all they're going to want to do is the band. I'd be cool with it, if i knew i could survive and hold down my uni and a job as well..
Don't expect to give up your day job.
I'm a student. Work in a bakery on Saturdays and free weekdays. Should that be, don't give up your degree?
-
I guess the reason i'm asking this, is because i'm signed to a label. Things won't kick off 'til next year - with album release and stuff. Thing is the rest of them seem to be under the impression that they'll have to give up working in order to devote time to the band, but how the hell could you survive on nothing?
It's a sad fact that making money in the original music world nowadays is extremely difficult, especially consistently. I had a discussion the other day with a bass playing friend, who plays in an original indie band, and he was shocked to discover how much I made playing covers compared to their wage, if they even get one! I think a lot of emphasis is being placed on merchandise sales, as this is where bands can recoup the investment needed to produce demos, EPs and the like. Of course, this means that bands have to take on the full responsibility of manufacturing, distributing and promoting their CDs too, so as to cut out the middle man. For the sheer amount of hours that most bands put in, they really do get paid a pittance.
Yeh, the examples i gave are relatively big names, but yeah - folk that are doing long 2-3 month European tours, that might attract and audience of 50 maximum at each venue. How can they do it!?
-
Hey, I was just wondering how indie bands do it; income wise. I'm sure a few of you folk on here will be relatively knowledgeable. See, i go to see these bands (65daysofstatic, This Will Destroy You awch, you know what i mean) They're brilliant, but i think to myself how much are these guys actually earning? Like all in, what £18-£25K maximum a year all in - more for the songwriters, a lot less for those who aren't? I dunno, i was just wondering how they can do it without having another job going on. I know a lot of them might run labels themselves now or work in a studio, but some don't.
