1. I doubt it would've been drilled, as it was hardly used in the 70's - so i was told anyway. I don't really understand.
2. Hey folks, Right, so my E-string went pop on my P-bass tonight... sort of. The ball of the string is smaller than the hole in the bridge it goes through. I didn't think this is normal? It has little brash washers, so far these have been keeping the string on the right side of the bridge, but tonight the ball went through that 'n all. Any ideas? I am after all a bit nooby when it comes to anything other than gear names.
3. Selling this too: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/EX-PRIMAL-SCREAM-MAR...=item4cebd86826
4.
Yeah I've noticed a few bods are using 2 volume / expressions pedals - whys that?
It supports 2 expression pedals.
5. The guitarist of my band has the Tiny Terror, and its apparently really great. She has the Dual Terror on order 'n all... they're also meant to be awesome. So... lets hope it follows that this is alright 'n all - might be a nice wee back-up if/when i get an 'unreliable' all-tube head
6. http://www.dv247.com/studio-equipment/line...ion-pedal--8324 Could use that.. it is after all what they recommend on the site. I, on the other hand, will be using a couple of Ernie Ball volume pedals; apparently they work with Line 6 stuff.. If not, can't go wrong with a couple of handy volume pedals anyway
7. Yep, Italy's postal service is comparable only to Eastern European police departments. Its a risk, and might be fine... but all you have to do is look at courier websites and see that Italy is in one of the highest European tarriff zones, despite not being as far away as some countries that are lower.
8.
Pink LED B:assmaster is the silicon circuit version of the pedal. While the germanium one has a blue LED
And its now mine!
9. I PM'd a while ago, but never received ought back I really fancied it as well.
10. NIce, i'll drop in tomorrow.
11.
...you've made a lot of bass players very happy!
And one regret he didn't get back from holiday a day or two earlier! Ah well, must get over it and be glad i didn't exercise my impulse buying feat.
12. Can vouch for Gav being a top chap and this dj4 is a stunner sonically and aesthetically.. i am finding it hard to resist dropping the notes myself.
13. PM'd - Do want.
14. Looks awesome. Pitty they're all so favoured by the hardcore/metalcore bands out there now. Regardless, do want
15.
Thanks Burrito! Ideally, I'd love some really old Fender's but money is always fairly tight, being a full time player - people around here (Peterborough) think I'm minted what with having the Bentley on the drive and eight bedrooms but in reality I'm Mr Overdraft! Being a kid in the 80's meant that I could only lust after Statii, JayDees etc (my paper round meant an Aria Cat Active was my only boutique bass!) so I guess I'm making up for it now!
As long as the Bentley is an old Turbo R. If its a Continental your automotive taste evidently doesn't reflect bass taste.
16.
Basically next year im going to cain out a custom Matamp.
Aren't we all
17. Sorry for time wasting, i'm just indecisive.
18. If you have it the middle of next month... i might have to give it some consideration. As you know i've been wanting one for ages. Like you though i am also tempted by the MatAmp route. I'll keep you posted, in the unlikely event of it sticking around.
19. I'm keeping it. I love it and realistically think P-Bass is me. So much so... i want more! Expect some wanted threads!
20. That looks stunning, i would offer £1500 in a snap, if i had that. Ugh, so depressing
21. Not entirely sure. Find the nearest tree trunk and try and lift it, that might give you a good idea. It does have monstrous tone though there isn't any two ways about describing this things weight. I love it though, and it isn't anything that a good strap doesn't sort out
22. Just so y'all know, it looks like for now i'll be running an SVP Pro with power amp, not sure which yet into a couple of Matamp 410's. I'm still thinking on the cabs, reckon i'll pay a visit to the factory next year... in which case i will likely get an amp at the same time
23. I'll be on holiday, with the bird in Greece. I'm on the immature side of 21 anyway
24.
Biggest advantage of pre/power to me is you can chop and change different preamps as you wish (providing you have them). As for volume, if your cabs can take it, these power amps will chuck out well over a kW of power quite happily with some of the mid/high powered ones in bridged mode. A pre/power setup is lighter than quite a lot of heads too normally, especially valve ones. But you won't get power tube distortion, if that's what you want!
I do love that, the distortion is the only thing that keeps bringing me back to the valve amps. My Holy Fire can do some amazing low-gain distortions though... i wish i could just get out and use my ears!
25. I'm back with more consideration: I'm thinking of maybe pre-amp/power amp setup. Pro's/con's? Would this be the simple solution to my problems of volume and large gigs? Cheers!
