Are you interested in a trade for a Danelectro Reel Echo for the Holy Fire? I can add cash if needs be...
Nope. I'm only looking for certain delay pedals, and for most i imagine i'd have to be the one adding money. Cheers though.
Nope, absolutely hate it! I play in an originals punk/grunge type band. Not hugely into punk or grunge but it was originally a favour to a friend whos old bassist was moving to england and i'd just moved to edinburgh so figured it would be a good laugh. The guitarist can't play a regular chord (He just down tunes to D and bars the bottom 3 strings for power chords for all the songs) and the drummer can't keep a beat. Not saying i could do any better but still... All the guitarist wants me to do is play his riffs (much like RATM play the same) or play root notes. Too much effects. A lot of screeching. Terrible. Utterly terrible. Once played a wee place called bannermans. There was a good 50 odd folk there. Within 2 songs everyone left. hahahahaa. Gotta quit soon. Been saying that for about a year now tho haha. Can't quite seem to do it. Just bought a new bass and playing it through the semi decent amps at the practice studio at top volume is too much fun to give up!
The people probably left because they realised they were in Bannermans... so don't take it personally.

After having no luck with bands this year, it looks like times have finally changed for me - i'm not wanting to speak too soon, but it looks a lot more promising now. I love playing the music, the people are brilliant, the attitude everyone has is really good, the level of commitment is do-able despite being at uni and the number of upcoming gigs is just ridiculous. The band are signed to the same label as a couple of my favorite bands too. Its all quite mad, and will continue to be so at the release of the album later in the year. Right now i'm just feeling really ashamed because bass lines that would usually not even pose any kind of problem are getting me over and over. I think its going to have to be a case of just sitting down for several hours in a locked room.

Creation Audio Holy Fire: http://www.creationaudiolabs.com/holyfire I bought this from the states, but i have a UK PSU for it. Its never been used, BNIB virtually. I'm looking for swaps only really. After a nice analog delay, or RC-20 or DD-20. Can add monies! Cheers for looking, Jamie
Ive seen them on gak. Look brilliant for the money dont they?
Yeah, they look really good. I've got an Eventide Timefactor though, so really i'm, only needing the loopers/dealys... so i'd be wasting too many functions i reckon.
-
Where did you buy it, and if you don't mind me asking, how much? I've been thinking of the eventide timefactor, but this might be a bit more my cuppa
-
I bought some and the screw snapped. Now i'm left with a screw stuck in the body and the bass did do a dive toward the floor. Surprisingly my guitarist at the time caught it for me... silly fast reflexes.

That guy looked like he didn't believe that was his own name... As for the sound you need lots o' phat, compressed sound into lots of phat, heavy rig. Ain' no POD gonna sim that.
Thanks for the welcome, chaps. I'm not entirely sure what I'm looking for. But certainly nothing excellent, as it'd be wasted on me. A real entry level 5 or 6 would do me. Not looking to head over the £300 mark. I'm not really sure what options that gives me. But having seen the Hudson 6 on here, I think that'd do me nicely.
I'd try and pick up an Ibanez SR506, i had one of those things... damn it was lovely. Regret selling it big time. You should see one second hand within budget

Search box of Awesomeness on Talkbass... its the same weird concept.

Here, here! I'm fine with it, i just wanted to know a bit more - a bit of reassurance that i wasn't a twat or ought

Hey Garry, I'm another Stirling-ite... well sort of, i go to the uni. You're right, the scene is non-existent, i've never had a gig there. Strictly Edinburgh (marginally), Glasgow, Dundee and Aberdeen that have been any good for me.
Well one of the reasons for specifically using a laptop is that iTunes, for example, allows crossfading between two tracks, which is something you can't do with a laptop. Secondly, when we want to start adding the backing tracks for brass and/or keys, I would have thought that a laptop would have been the easier solution?
I use an E-MU 0404 USB Audio Interface for live gigs with the laptop. I just take a DI one L and R channels... to the mixer. If i'm at the practice rooms we'll usually just stick a lead into the PA from the L and R into two seperate channels or just go from the stereo output into the tape input.
