1. Hey folks,

I am kinda undecided about this, i need money and don't really use this bass as much as my 4 strings and have only gigged it once so logic tells me i should let it go :)

Basically, it has been upgraded with EMG 40J pups and i think it has the BQS pre-amp in it, i'll have to confirm this. It has a mahogany body, bubigna and wenge neck, which has a really nice slim profile. 17 mm string spacing. Almost new D'addrio strings on it. No real signs of use really, a slight scratch on the cavity cover, that's it really. Also, a really tight B string  Also, has dunlop strap locks on it.

It has a really clear, punchy tone. it doesn't have LOADS of low end thunder but through my H&K rig it is still very tight and strong ;)

I'll take some pics of it in it's rather beaten up Peavey HSC that i'll be including with it ;)

    Best Regards, Jamie

I paid $550 for this, that isn't including the VAT charges. I think £275 is a very reasonable asking price.

  2. Unfortunately the 2 people that were interested in this have both bought other basses now. I can't condemn them tho' as I have done the same thing myself

I am still looking for £220 posted. That is posted via CityLink couriers next day.

It really is a great bass this folks i just need to money :)

  3. Hey Folks,

The pedal is has the odd we chip but is in very very good condition, never gigged and works perfectly.

The only reason i am selling is because at this present time i am not using it all that much and i need money :)

This particular pedal is pretty 'special'. Although it is a standard re-issue Dunlop MXR Phase 90 it has been personally modified by '' The FX Doctor'' at www.fxdoctor.com In short the 'script' mod reverts the pedal back to it's original 70's spec bringing back the ''warmth and clarity''

Also, a true bypass switch has been added aswell as an extremely bright blue LED

I am selling it for £75 posted.

  4. I was thinking that the option of fitting a D-tuner and the Dimarzio WILL power pups is open to me anyway. I'd probably not get on very well with the scalloped frets anyway. I am going to contact the bloke and see if he'll take my offer :)

  5. I have an SR496, it has a BQS preamp and EMGs fitted. It is such a good quality instrument for the money and it sounds incredible with the new electronics. Ok so EMGs aren't the most versatile pup but with some tweaking of the knobs it doesn't take much to find a tone to suit most styles :)

I believe it is a mahogany body with a Wenge and Bubinga neck, similar to a lot of SRs. Unfortunately the 496 never really took off and the 506 pretty much just came in and took over the show. Shame.

  6. Hey folks,

A chance at a Yamaha Attitude custom (the one with the woofer pup under the PG and the piezo transducers in the bridge) has came up and at a really low price ( £300 )

I am wanting opinions on these basses pretty quickly if possible :) How does it differ from the other variants ? I believe it doesn't have scalloped upper frets, what else does it lack when compared to the other models ?

    Thanks for any help

    Jamie

  7.
Don't sell it that cheaply! I have personally been offered £300 for mine, and it's EXACTLY the same as yours, so there are people out there that want them! Stick it on the bay with a reserve, advertise it in one of the "Ad-Mag" type papers, or even shove it on Loot. It's worth a lot more-don't panic!
I think you should sell it that cheap ... to me

Still can't believe you've not sold it yet :) I am on the market for 4 string at the mo' too I didn't exactl have one of these in mind tho'
