Well that would be this one, fresh out of the box and absolutely gorgeous.

Help me find a courier that wil ship my bass!

Yes I believe they've always insisted on the item being in a box, or at least covered in cardboard (for insured it has to be in a hard case too I believe). -
Help me find a courier that wil ship my bass!

What are the other dimensions? I went on interparcel the other day and my favoured courier (UPS) wasn't coming up but once I'd reduced one of the width/depth dimensions they reappeared. -
Yes, the 1053 is the 1x15 cab to look for. 👍
-
The 4x10 is rated the same as the 1x15 ie 250 watts at 4ohms, so they'll both need an extension cab to get the full 250 watts. However, I very much doubt you'll be struggling for volume with either. Photo of a page from the SMX brochure attached. The previous Trace ranges (MkV for example) used to quote 165 watts for a 250 watt head running at 8ohms. EDIT - Obviously speaker surface area also comes into play when choosing between the two but others can discuss that at far greater length than me! 😣

I had the 1x15 SMX combo and it was superb. I only got rid as I moved on to seperate TE heads and cabs. As loud as you needed it to be and relatively portable at 30kgs. Beware the 2x10 version. Sounds great but adds another 10kgs. The 4x10 is around 50kgs. EDIT - Sorry I was just posting this at the same time as the OP was posting the above 🙄

I've just received these after buying them from a well known auction site. Turns out I actually needed the 3/8" versions not these 1/2" jobbies. So these are for sale or I will trade if someone has a set of the same in 3/8". Satin silver back with chrome ears, they're in great condition and are the US ones with the facility to switch the handing. Price includes shipping to GB.

What do you get if you cross an Elf with a Midget?
Deedee replied to stewblack's topic in Amps and Cabs
Spooky. I've just been playing through my Elf into a BF FOUR10 and it also sounds truly wonderful. -
The 'Wanted' section of the marketplace is the best place for this. 👍

Bought a Fender Mike Dirnt from Les after making an unsolicited enquiry before it was even listed for sale. Fortunately for me it was soon to be listed so fortune favoured the brave (or the cheeky). Les was an absolute gentleman with great communication throughout. He furnished me with the answers to all of my questions with accompanying photographs and arranged for the bass to be delivered promptly. It arrived exactly as described. Trade with confidence. 👍 Many thanks again.

I've had my strat plus deluxe since 1994 and it'll be with me forever. Bass wise I'm ashamed to say the longest stayer of my current collection is a woeful two and a half years. 😧

Beautiful 😍

I'm a fan if the artist in question has made some interesting tweaks from the standard models. I have a Status Chris Wolstenholme on order. I'm not a huge Muse fan, but I love Status basses and I like the different pickup positions and additional mid controls that his sig model has.

Love the colour with the matching headstock but I wouldn't fancy paying that much for a bass with dummy knobs on! 😂

Same here. I once bought a cheap fiver without first checking the string spacing. Horrific!

42-44mm for me. My Aria SB-R 's at 43mm are bang on and for me the most comfortable necks (along with Status). I've had some lovely basses with slimmer necks (EBMM Sterlings etc) but I get pains/cramps across my hand after a period of playing which I just don't get on wider necked basses. I do have long spindly fingers though so perhaps that's it.

That's very kind but I'm afraid that'd be a little outside my skill set. I'm a bit more like this fella!

Just came across this thread whilst looking for inspiration. Great thread and what a beautiful bass @lou24d53, congratulations. I was recently lusting after the Sea Foam Green Mike Lull 54P for sale on here and I was also more than interested in the Status Vintage GP model, so I think I'm going to go for a '54 P of some description. It certainly won't be one for the purists as I have a rather lovely Status P neck incoming courtesy of @Cuzzie that I'll be using. I suppose the decision is whether to just buy an existing bass such as a Butterscotch Mike Dirnt (different pickup I know) or to buy a new body as on this thread. Decisions, decisions...............
