Admittedly I’m a Trace fan boy and I have no experience of Hartke gear, but I’d highly recommend a 250/300 watt 1x15 Trace (an SM or SMX preferably). I’ve had a couple in the past and if I was in the market for a combo again I’d have another in a heartbeat. More than loud enough and the 1x15 models are at least a little more manageable at 30kg tops (the 2x10 is nearer 40kg). Also they’re pretty narrow depth front to back so fit easily into saloon car boots, hatches with the rear seats up etc. Either way, stick some casters on it and you’re away.

I think I'll be going for the HX Effects. On a side note it appears that the Stomp prices are coming down with several places offering them at similar prices to the HX Effects now.

Yes the facility to do that appeals to me too.

Congratulations 👍

I certainly will 👍 I’m not a huge user of effects but being in covers bands and perhaps needing that one effect once every six months, the multi-effects route has always been the way to go for me. The B3 has performed admirably over several years. If (as I’m led to believe) the Helix range brings an improvement in the quality and range of effects available, I’ll certainly be interested in getting one of the range. The navigation of either solution in a live situation is obviously critical, with the FX looking to tick all the boxes on that front. However, it may be my current lack of knowledge of how easily the Stomp switches between patches that’s clouding my view i.e. I’m sure it switches just as easily as it does on the B3. Decisions, decisions 🤔

I'm sure I'd be able to find a suitable effect in the FX so I'd probably do away with it tbh. I don't tend use it a great deal anyway.

At the risk of much thread duplication I was just about to ask the same question as the OP. I have a lot of love for my Zoom B3 but I think I'll be treating myself to either a Stomp or a FX for Crimbo. The size of the Stomp is appealing but I'm not to fussed about amp and cab simulators and the FX isn't a whole lot bigger than the B3 (which is currently mounted on a Pedaltrain mini along with a VT Bass and my G30 receiver). The VT Bass would be sold on anyway so.....

I used the Nottingham one a few times. The gear has always been fine in my experience but as has already been mentioned, we did have an issue with the door code on one occassion and the limited parking can also be a pain. -
Very nice. Congratulations 👍

Exactly this. All the best to you Lozz. 👍

Great review and a very interesting thread. I'm not too clued up on the V-Type range and I must admit that the V4 and V8 currently on offer have pricked my curiosity again. Are there any significant differences or improvements between the MkI and MkII V4?

With or without the flowers, still a stunning looking bass 😍

It’s as if the bride chose that colour scheme to match your bass! 🤣

I’m not too clued up on Mustangs tbh so not sure whether that’s good or bad, but I know they do have/have had some good used bargains when compared to other stores prices.
-
Totally agree. Richtone (along with many other stores) will give you next to nothing for a trade in, but the plus side with them in particular is that they do sell those used items on at very, very competitive prices.

Blimey 😮

You realise that when this thread is discovered in 20 years time, you'll have completely scuppured your chances of being elected MPs don't you? 😂
