  1. If I didn’t already have one, I’d have snapped it up already. Real bargain.
  2. https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F274088024700
  3. As has been said above, a Status Smart bass. I thought I recognised that carpet background. Here's a previous ad for it: https://www.richtonemusic.co.uk/product/status-smart-bass-natural-ash-w-hard-case-2nd-hand-yother64148/
  4. These are great basses. I’m not a five player but every few years I get the urge and last time it was one of these that I bought (for the wider string spacing). I’m sure the next time I get the urge to give fives another go, it’ll be one of these I seek out.
  5. Exactly this for me. Unfortunately I’m not playing much at the moment so gas goes into overdrive. As @TheGreek said, it’s those that remain with us after the honeymoon period that count.
  6. Ouch! ☹️ Have you looked through the 'Recommended Amp Techs' thread at the top of the Repairs & Technical forum? There's a lot of techs from all over the country listed there.
  7. Nice work, that looks great. 👍 There’s something hugely satisfying about breathing new life into old kit.
  8. No I can't seem to find it anywhere either. ☹️
  9. It'd be worth it if the shop doesn't mind storing while you sort the logistics.
  10. Not sure tbh. I was going to go for the 760fx but assumed (perhaps wrongly) that the LTF's would be lower tension. Here's a pic showing the tension on these if you have the same info on the 760fx's to compare?
  11. This could get expensive! 😂
  12. Well the set of LaBella Low Tension Flats I ordered arrived today. I've put them on my Steve Harris P and what can I say, an absolute revelation! The only time I'd tried flats previously was when I'd bought a bass where they were already fitted, or at a jam night etc. I'd liken my previous experiences to trying to play coat-hanger wire. These however feel and sound superb and the tension is fine for me (I do like pretty light strings). I'm really loving the sound. Embarrassingly it's like a penny has dropped and I've finally realised what all the fuss is about with flats. It's the P sound and I'd not really appreciated the almost fretless mwahh quality you get, plus the difference in sound when really digging in. I'm very pleased with them and they'll certainly be staying in place. May even try a set on the Stingray too.
  13. I've got my own going on........
  14. I must admit to being extremely tempted by one of these.
  15. Hi Chris The manual shown below which states ‘Valve Series’ is basically the standard Series 6 manual with the above 2 pages added at the back. So if you search for ‘Series 6 GP12’ (such as the link below) you should be able to find what you need. https://dokumen.tips/documents/trace-elliot-gp12-series-6-manual.html
  16. Exactly the same here. I'm a big Steve Harris fan and that may be the reason that I first tried one, but I love the bass because of it's chunky neck and how it plays, not because of it being a signature bass.
  17. Quite possibly. I know a chap locally who could probably do one for me actually. Many thanks 👍
  18. No, it's just for that ability to quickly alter your EQ to suit a room without having to adjust the graphic. It's a very useful feature that I've used a lot on the SMX and previously on an SM too. I'll probably just hold out until another SMX pedal comes up for sale again. It's only for when I'm taking one of my older non-SMX TE heads out for a run.
  19. Once again, you're never too old! Welcome
  20. His main bass used to have the Blue Sparkle finish. It was then refinished in white with the pinstripes and West Ham badge hence the 2 different signature basses.
  21. Many thanks. Possibly a bit overkill for what I was thinking. It's more the EQ balance 'tilt' facility that I'm interested in than the compressor functions.
  22. I too am quite happy to be corrected on this. I initially thought the same (I even sold the 8ohm cab I had at the time and bought a 4ohm one). It was only after this that I was told that it would run quite happily into a single 8ohm cab.😟 EDIT - I've just checked back through my notes/emails. I was advised that running my Hexa into a cab at double the ohmage was fine, but anything more than that was not i.e. amp set to 2ohm running into a 4ohm cab would be ok (not that you would need to of course), amp set to 4ohm running into an 8ohm cab was ok, but amp set at 4ohm running into a 16ohm cab was a big no-no. Basically if you can't get a 1:1 amp-cab impedance then 1:2 would be fine but not 1:4
