1.
Take it your happy with the P ?glad to hear, lovely bass.I ended up with a Sunburst MIJ 62 ri when i got my finances back in order
Absolutely love it. It's honestly the best playing P I've ever owned ๐Ÿ˜
 2. Many thanks ๐Ÿ˜Š. It is a lovely bass but just not for me at the moment.
 3. Beautiful basses, the same as mine. If it wasn't the same colour, I'd be all over it. Glwts
 4. I haven't had this too long but I've set my heart on another so this is going to have to move along. It's a rather cool looking Squier Silver Series Made in Japan Precision. I've attached links to previous ads for this bass and I'm sure those sellers would vouch for it. Since owning the bass I have changed the Kiogon wiring harness for one of his newer type looms (CTS solid shaft pots, switchcraft jack socket). I also fitted a new pair of knurled flat top knobs. Along with this it is fitted with a pickup from a US Fender Deluxe and a custom made tortoiseshell scratchplate. Currently strung with Rotosound Swingbass 66's, but I will throw in the set of flats that were on the bass when I bought it. It really does play and sound great and looks the business with a bit of an old school mojo thang going on. Links (hope you guys don't mind), firstly from Pestie: http://basschat.co.uk/topic/308026-sold-squier-silver-series-precision-mij-1991-92-sold/page__p__3328440__hl__silver%20series__fromsearch__1#entry3328440 And the original ad and (Very Good) pics from Cameltoe: http://basschat.co.uk/topic/295172-sold-squier-silver-series-mij-precision-bass-3-tsb-light-weight/page__p__3173779__hl__squier%20silver%20series__fromsearch__1#entry3173779 Sale only thanks I'm based in South Yorkshire if you'd like to try or meet up.
 5.
Indeed, I have a 'P' serial number (2002 - 2004?) with a natural ash body and a maple neck, but it has dots rather than blocks. It has a 'B' profile neck, somewhere inbetween a Jazz and a traditional P bass shape.
Yeah I've been searching the web drooling over some of these natural Ash examples. They look stunning. I think my absolute ideal would be natural Ash but with a rosewood board ๐Ÿ˜
 6. That's settled it, I'm definitely after a rosewood board ๐Ÿ˜
 7.
The two reissues (with tort plates added) are the one on the far left and the 4th one along.
Very nice ๐Ÿ˜. You really ought to thin the herd a bit and sell one of those .................
 8.
The 2011 models were indeed available with the a Sunburst option but not an RW board as far as I know but I could be wrong: https://reverb.com/uk/item/4786451-fender-classic-series-70s-precision-bass-2011-mij However, there were older PB70 models that were available from Japan such as OLY and RW, Black and RW with mirrored pick guard (I had one) and also Ash bodied models in either sunburst or natural with RW or Maple boards! You'll see some on eBay if you search PB70, but beware of CITES if you want a Rosewood model when it comes to importing.
Thanks for that. Do you know if the neck shape is the same on all of the '70's' reissues?
 9. Hi all. I'm after a bit of product range knowledge here. I have a gorgeous 2011 MIJ Fender 70's Reissue Precision in Olympic White with a maple/block board. I absolutely love this bass to the extent that I'd like another ๐Ÿ˜. My question is, what were the other colour options? Did they do a sunburst/rosewood option? Cheers
 10.
Received in a part exchange. After a chat with the Mrs, decided it's not my cuppa tea.
๐Ÿ˜‚
 11. For my vote, Fender Custom Shop '62. To my ears just sounds like a P bass should and really growls when you want it to. EDIT: By 'sounds like a P bass should', I don't mean thuddy and dark (although it can do that). I mean it really cuts through and sounds wonderful ๐Ÿ˜.
 12.
That's a bit daft given it's in the box in which the amp will be delivered!!
That's what I thought, but back in Feb/March when I placed my order (before later getting a refund) I specifically asked if it came with the bag and was told no. To be fair, they may not have been in possession of the full back then.
 13.
When switching between using a pick and fingers during a set, how can I keep a consistent volume? I've noticed a drop in volume when switching to a pick, which I suppose make sense due to the inherent characteristics of the two different styles, but it's still inconvenient. Compressor? EQ? Boost pedal? If anyone can give me some input before I splash the cash, that'd be grand
I have this issue but the other way around - I'm far louder with the pick. I make use of the active/passive switch on my head but obviously if you don't have one...... ๐Ÿค”
 14.
Ironic? I could order one on ebay, include P&P, it would be marginally more expensive (by less than a pound) and it would probably arrive before the one I've had on order since March. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/122620375642?_trksid=p999999.c100636.m-1&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIM.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20160602105936%26meid%3Da0b103c526d249f49644481d859ab5f1%26pid%3D100636%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D4%26sd%3D172795549006&ul_noapp=true
And you get the carry bag. When I asked BD they said their price didn't include a bag ๐Ÿ˜ฎ
 15.
Recommended to a would be Trace Elliot-er - good luck with the sale.
+1 to that. Great rig with lots of 'h*ft' for very little cash
 16. Happy to start a feedback thread for Vince. Recently sold him a pedal. Great communication throughout and prompt payment. What more do you want? ๐Ÿ˜ Many thanks
 17. Year of birth bass for me. ๐Ÿ˜ Get thee behind me..............
 18. The 'smaller' heads such as the AH250 SMX, AH200SM and numerous others are all 2 unit Rack size (height). The larger heads such as the AH350, 400, 600 and some of the earlier ones are 3 Unit rack size. They are also far deeper front to back.
 19.
I never use the preshape either, sounds good at home but in a band gig situation you need the mids, I've gone from cutting the mids (around the 600hz area) slightly to leaving them alone and having the the bottom three sliders (GP12) right down, anything below 100hz tends to cause boom, on my set up anyway
Just to clarify, you're quite right that the famed pre-shape 1 just gets lost in the mix. However, using a combination of the graphic and the pre-shapes can give you a very wide range of very usable tones that cut through any mix. Also, just using pre-shape 2 on its own (adjusting the EQ balance to suit the room) has got me straight out of many 'lost in the mix' situations over the years.
 20. Well after all that faffing, it turns out that the Black plate on my 2011 Squier VM Precision fits! ๐Ÿ™„ Now I know some people may want to stone me for swapping them over, but I for one think they both look great.
