1. Apologies in advance for being sh*te with wiring but here goes. I've just bought this Dimarzio Model P off the forum and have wired it up into my Squier P with a Kiogon solderless kit already fitted. The black and white wires are taped together and are not being used. I've put the red wire where the white would normally go and the green wire in with the already present ground wires (where the black would normally go). Half the pickup sounds fine i.e. thick and powerful tone. The other half sounds very quiet and out of phase. Any ideas what I may have done wrong? Cheers
2. A few years ago on this very forum I posted a wanted ad for a Trace GP12SMX head. A very kind fellow member offered me his broken one for free, save for a £50 donation to BC. I promptly headed off down the motorway, collected the head and then dropped it off at my local repairers. Best part of £70 later and it was all back up and running and sounding fabulous. I now have 2 of them but this one that was brought back from the dead has been my main gigging amp ever since (easily identified by the scar on the faceplate above the High Compression knob).
3.
Dan, the actual link Alex puts up STATES 2 X M5 bolts per handle. But each handle comes with 4 (presumably M5 bolts).
I know exactly what you mean Karl. The original Mk1/Mk 2 handles have 2 screws per handle. When you order the replacements they are supplied with 4 screws per handle. Can those other additional 2 screws be used and if so, how?
4.
I'm not explaining myself very well (just for a change). 2 x Tnut /handle 4 x bolt /handle where do the extra 2 bolts go INTO THE CAB? No Tnut or hole for them to go into.
😂 Just beat me to it
5.
You really need to have a washer and nut inside the cab. A screw will not be secure in the thin plywood. Frank.
Yeah, but the thought was just to put something in there to stop the side to side 'swing' of the handles
6. I had the same Karlfer when I changed them on that Super 12. I was going to just put a wood screw in the additional handle holes (purely to stop that slight movement), but I never got round to it. 🙄
7. Bought a splitter Cable off Lozz but needed a jack plug connection instead of a speakon. After I had checked with OBBM, Lozz very kindly agreed to send it on to him to make the necessary changes before sending it on to me. Speedy delivery and great communication throughout. Hope you're well Lozz and many thanks again 😁

10.
I'm with you on that one. Not my thing at all. FOr me it was the amp I've owned which I was most disappointed with, after all the hype I'd read. My absolute 100% amp recommendation has to be the Trace Elliot SMX series. The 250 will see off any modern class D 500 Watter volume-wise and has a tone and sheer impact that I have not found elsewhere. The 250's are reasonably portable too - an easy one hand lift. (although it all gets a bit silly with the 350 and up, which are well over 20kg) I keep trying other stuff but always come back to owning an SMX. Amazing amps.
100% snap. Could have said that myself, word for word 😁
11. The cab merry-go-round continues! Bought/part-traded my old BF cab back off Richard today. A pleasure to deal with as before and had a good old natter about amps and cabs. Many thanks again Richard, until we meet again.
12. Bought another harness from John for a Squier VM P. Another speedy, seamless transaction and great product. The bass sounds fab! Many thanks again John.
13. Very nice purchase. Well done that man 👍
14. Sold a GB cab to Gerry. Great communication throughout and prompt payment. Arranged to meet up with his pal for a shady services type hand over 👀. A text book hassle-free BC deal. Trade with confidence - top Bass chatter Many thanks again
15. Hi Lozz Do you know if this would this still work if the amp end speak-on was changed to a jack plug?
16. Picked this up very recently but funds are required elsewhere so this is going to have to go. This is the later second generation of the GB NeoX 2x12 cab. Spec here: http://www.genzbenz.com/?fa=detail&mid=2909&sid=725&cid=96 It's in great condition other than a slight dent on the grill that I've tried to show in the last photo. Comes complete with a Roqsolid cover. Collection or meet up only please (I'm in a South Yorkshire).
17.
DELIVERY DATE UPDATE: I contacted Barnes & Mullins today to chase up a more accurate delivery date (in June) for the new Elf. I was advised that they do not have a confirmed delivery date but expect delivery at "the end of July". I'm not happy about this as I was promised "end of March, if not, April" by the B&M rep at the LBGS and handed over payment for pre-order shortly after the conversation. I've also emailed TE in the USA and I'm awaiting a reply from their Customer Sales Dept. but TBH I'm seriously considering getting a refund and waiting till they actually arrive....
😡 It really is shocking
18. Another hassle free purchase from Karl, although the weather could have been better today 😂. Many thanks Karl, great cab, great communication and a top fella. Until the next time 😉. All the best
19. Sold a Bf cab to Jonny. Great communication throughout, payment on collection and a quick chat about all things bass. What more could you want 😁 Trade with confidence. Top fella.
20. Hi all This is the very same BF Vintage that is advertised lower down this page (to be fair to Lee, he's now in the states and in all the rush has forgotten to mark it as sold). I believe Lee purchased it from another member on here a few years back. I jumped on this in a fit of impulse buying the other night after another cab I was interested in was withdrawn. As such, I was a little hasty and although this does well and truly tick the 'Bigger Cab' box, to be honest it's a little too big for my needs. These cabs are from the Barefaced 1st generation and as such, there's not a huge amount of information to be found online. They were (I believe) designed to be wide enough to sit a traditional valve amp on without the dreaded overhang! The silver cloth adds to the vintage look. I've shown a pic with my rack-cased Trace SMX on top so you can get an idea of the size. It's in good condition with a few small chips here and there. There's also a scrape on the bottom at the back between the wheels. A couple of the handle screws have also been changed at some point. DIMENSIONS 39" high x 24" wide x 13.5" deep 99cm x 61cm x 34cm WEIGHT 46lbs / 21kg SENSITIVITY 102dB - Loud, really really LOUD! USABLE FREQUENCY RANGE 31Hz - 4kHz RECOMMENDED AMP POWER 100-1200W RMS MAXIMUM OUTPUT 131.5dB - matches or betters any 8x10", 4x12" or 2x15" IMPEDANCE 4 ohms It's lightweight, Sounds massive and comes with a Roqsolid cover. Possible trades - another (slightly smaller) lightweight, efficient cab with cash either way, preferably 4 ohm as it'll be a one cab solution I'm after e.g. Genz Benz NeoX 212 (Mk 2) Tecamp 2x12 Or possibly another 1x15 This is a definite collection or meet up only I'm afraid. I'm in South Yorkshire but do enjoy a motorway meet up. It's for sale at the price I've just paid for it which I still believe is an absolute steal. Many thanks
