1. Hi all This is the very same BF Vintage that is advertised lower down this page (to be fair to Lee, he's now in the states and in all the rush has forgotten to mark it as sold). I believe Lee purchased it from another member on here a few years back. I jumped on this in a fit of impulse buying the other night after another cab I was interested in was withdrawn. As such, I was a little hasty and although this does well and truly tick the 'Bigger Cab' box, to be honest it's a little too big for my needs. These cabs are from the Barefaced 1st generation and as such, there's not a huge amount of information to be found online. They were (I believe) designed to be wide enough to sit a traditional valve amp on without the dreaded overhang! The silver cloth adds to the vintage look. I've shown a pic with my rack-cased Trace SMX on top so you can get an idea of the size. It's in good condition with a few small chips here and there. There's also a scrape on the bottom at the back between the wheels. A couple of the handle screws have also been changed at some point. DIMENSIONS 39" high x 24" wide x 13.5" deep 99cm x 61cm x 34cm WEIGHT 46lbs / 21kg SENSITIVITY 102dB - Loud, really really LOUD! USABLE FREQUENCY RANGE 31Hz - 4kHz RECOMMENDED AMP POWER 100-1200W RMS MAXIMUM OUTPUT 131.5dB - matches or betters any 8x10", 4x12" or 2x15" IMPEDANCE 4 ohms It's lightweight, Sounds massive and comes with a Roqsolid cover. Possible trades - another (slightly smaller) lightweight, efficient cab with cash either way, preferably 4 ohm as it'll be a one cab solution I'm after e.g. Genz Benz NeoX 212 (Mk 2) Tecamp 2x12 Or possibly another 1x15 This is a definite collection or meet up only I'm afraid. I'm in South Yorkshire but do enjoy a motorway meet up. It's for sale at the price I've just paid for it which I still believe is an absolute steal. Many thanks
2. Genuinely, the 1x15 combos are manageable. You would have that warm fuzzy feeling when carrying it, safe in the knowledge that it's considerably lighter than the 2 x 10 version. Seriously though, some £14 castors from Screwfix and you're sorted 👍
3. Hi all Purchased this very recently from Silverfoxnik. It is a fantastic cab in truly mint condition. However, embarrassingly I'd overlooked the fact that it is slightly too narrow for my big old Trace heads to sit on without the dreaded overhang. A purely shallow and aesthetic reason, but reason enough for my low level ocd. Speaker: 1 x 15" Ceramic Tweeter: 4" CTM1 cone (switchable full/half/off) Power Handling: 400 W RMS Impedance: 4 ohms Two Speakon® combo connectors Dimensions: (W x H x D): 44 cm x 54 cm x 35 cm / 17.4" x 21.1" x 13.8" Weight: 15kg / 33lbs It comes with the original quality TecAmp padded cover and is for sale at the absolute bargain price I paid for it. Many thanks
4.
18mm at the bridge and 43mm at the nut.
Many thanks 🤔
5. Happy to kick off a feedback thread for Conor. Sold him my rehoused Trace head. Prompt payment and great communication. Trade with confidence. All the best.
6. What's the string spacing and nut width on this model please?
7.
Have a serious look at a Japanese P-bass. I would suggest anyone dipping their toes to buy second hand as you are more likely to get your money back if you decide you don't like it.
I agree. I've had a few P basses and my current one, a MIJ Fender 70's reissue is the best I've played. There's a sunburst one going on FB at the moment. I did change the pick up (purely as I'm a particular fan of the Custom Shop '62) but they really are superb basses as stock.
8.
What's the string spacing at the bridge and the weight please?
They're listed as 19mm spacing I believe (that's why I went for it as I really struggle with narrow spacing). I haven't got the exact weight but I'd guess it's around 9-9.5lbs. It's heavier than my Fender P but lighter than my Stingray. Very well balanced and sits nice on the strap.
9. Back up for sale or trade as I am now back on 4 strings 100% of the time. I’m taking a hit on this so grab yourself a bargain! Here's the blurb: The 5-string Ibanez BTB675 Electric Bass unleashes unbelievable sound capabilities, thanks to quality woods, superior construction, and cutting-edge electronics. A solid light ash body with a walnut top offers cool looks backed up by rugged construction. The rugged 5-piece maple and bubinga thru-neck creates stronger, more dedicated tone. Exaggerated cutaways make upper-fret access effortless. The U-shaped neck profile, 19-11/16" radius, and 1-7/8" nut assure that playing your bass stays comfortable as you run your hand up and down its 24 frets. The 35" neck scale provides superior articulation-ideal for low tunings. Quad-coil exclusively designed Bartolini MK-2 pickups are balanced for tone and plenty of sizzle. The Ibanez BTB675 bass' neck pickup's tone is ultra-deep, balancing well with a bright bridge pickup for an evenly proportioned overall mix. Die-cast tuners, cosmo black hardware, and a flat finish round out the iIbanez BTB675 5-string bass guitar's features to make it truly is work of the luthier's art. Superb buzz free action it plays like a dream - just one too many strings for my needs right now! Collection or meet up preferred (I'm in South Yorkshire). I can supply a beaten up old hard case, but trust me it really is beat up. Sorry for some of the pics being the wrong orientation :-( NOTE - this is also advertised elsewhere so apologies if it disappears without warning
10.
That's a monster bargain right there.
+ 1 to that 😮
11.
I've owned a BonaFide for some years now, apart from a brief holiday with Gareth, it's been a main amp for gigging. I also used a Pooma 300 as a back up, never needed. The flexibility of the Bona is superb, twin channels with a 12db bass boost below 200Hz on one, two send and return. I also use two TecAmp cabs S115 and SX115 having recently sold both an XS112 and SX110, it was the best sounding and user friendly 4 cab rig I've ever used... buried an Eden WT800 I used with Schroeder cabs for user friendlyness. I am biased. Thomas fell out with the American partner who wanted production in China coinciding with Richard taking a Hissy Fit, IMO Thomas was already on the move. I bought the T1000 from Thomas at 2016 LBGS, a well built and thoughtfully designed head, identical (IMO) to the Pooma 1000 with the split channel bass boosty control. I sold it as it was overkill for me. A while back when I revisited my pedal phase I used both channels with various pedals, namely a POG2 through the 'treble channel' and an octave pedal through the Bass boosts channel, sublime. Small gigs one channel, bigger gigs both, both channels run into 2 Ohms, potentially an 8 cab rig... if your ever in Leicester you would be welcome to try the BonaFide out.
Thanks for that. They too look great but I fear that a Bonafide may just be slightly out of my financial reach at the moment. Thanks for the offer of a try out anyway. Thanks to all for their advice, views and experiences. It's all greatly appreciated 👍
12. I'm sure this method is extremely frowned upon, but do the Ashdown combos have a 1/4" jack from the speaker into the back of the amp that you can unplug? In the distant past when I found myself with a duff combo but no other cab to hand, I used a jack to jack connector onto a short speaker lead and connected another head to the combo. I know the Ashdown speaker may not be the best, but at least you'll be able to use your Puma.
13.
Got two Puma 500 amps. It's my go to for double bass these days. It's so small that the second one lives under the passenger seat, just in case.
That's sounds like one too many to me, so if you fancy parting company with one........... 😉
14.
Been using the bonafide for a few years now. Light, flexible and always sounds good. Bass guitar and double bass. Plenty of power where needed. Nothing not to like really...
Nice. Is this effectively a twin channel Puma?
15. Are there any big differences between the first and second generation models?
16. Hi all So, what are these heads all about? I've recently bought another Tecamp cab after having a L115-4 a couple of years ago. Very impressed with both the sound and the build quality but I've yet to try a Puma head. Seen lots of high praise on these pages. 300, 500, 900, 1000???? Which are the ones to go for? Are there any differences other than power? Any era changes that make a significant difference? Are they too good to be used just as a back up? Any significant differences under the EICH brand?
