1.
How are you finding it, DeeDee?
To quote Mr R. McDonald, I'm Loving it 😁 It played well before, but now it feels superb. The best word I can use to describe it (due to my lack of creative vocabulary) is 'smooth'. Not the obvious feel of the graphite, but the actual way the neck plays. Wherever you are on the neck it plays like butter, low action, no buzzes, bang on intonation. Big thanks for that must go to Stu at Electromusic who fitted and set it up for me. I dare say that it wouldn't play quite so well if I'd have set it up myself! EDIT - And solid, it feels very solid, but not in a dead and lifeless way if you get what I mean
2. Hang on to your gear and enjoy playing your 'rediscovered' back catalogue. You never know when or where the next opportunity will come knocking, but when it does you'll be ready. I find your position rather inspiring and I hope that I may be in a similar position in 20 odd years time. Best of luck
3. Truly one of the original legends. Perhaps a flawed genius in his later years, but that shouldn't detract from his contribution to music and the influence he had.
4.
I'm waiting for my new TE Elf to arrive (hopefully at the end of the month) - I'll be unloading a combo and/or a head as and when...
Snap - I think I'll be giving one a try, even if it's as a very portable back up. I think the combo may be moving on to make way.....................
5. I've had several 250's, a couple of 350's and a 600. All SMX's and all wonderful. I personally didn't notice any discernible difference in tone between them, other than one of the 250's seemed to sound a bit darker than the others (which could've been down to some major repairs that had been carried out on it). In the end I settled on the AH250 models as they had the sound and all the features for my needs, without the bulk (other than the lovely UV of course). The recent AH600-12 purchase was just to see what they were all about and as I've said earlier in the thread, I'm impressed.
6.
Yes indeed, why upgrade it..I understand the counter arguments - there are others around, buy a Yamaha, buy an Ibanez, This bass stands on its own - the Squier price point could lead one to think that its a piece of rubbish to be avoided, OK I've tweaked mine, but total spend for me has been a shade over £300 and it sounds awesome.
Too true. I've fitted a kiogon loom (cts pots/switchcraft socket etc) and I have been toying with changing the pickup too. However, it does sound great as is. The new project I'm currently in isn't going to require quite as much 5 string action as I first thought, so I'm looking to sell one of my fives. But honestly although completely different beasts, I can't decide between this or my BTB. My head says move the Squier on as the BTB is more flexible etc, etc, but my heart says keep the Squier because it plays and feels wonderful. 🤔
7. Looks great. I've just done the same with my 2003 MM 'ray. A used neck off this very forum (a member responded to my wanted ad) and it plays beautifully. I would have actually preferred one with no dot markers on the board for added stealth, but hey ho.
8.
Not sure, I'm buying mine through Bass Direct but the Peavey Distributors are Barnes & Mullins. I spoke to the Rep at LBGS. Contact: [email protected]
Many thanks
9. Are these to be widely distributed in the U.K. or just through a select number of retailers?

11. Just bought a bridge from Mark. Item exactly as described, great communication and well packaged. Trade with confidence. Many thanks
12. Here's my 2003 3 band sporting it's newly fitted Status neck. Plays wonderfully well 😁 (sorry the pic's the wrong way around)
13. Just to reiterate my initial thoughts, had a great rehearsal tonight using the AH600. Really punchy sound (Stingray straight in). Great amp and in my opinion very underrated.
14. I briefly had a 50's P. Lovely bass but I couldn't get on with the neck. It was just too shallow for me, felt a bit flat.
15. My Ibanez BTB675 is great, really does play beautifully and is extremely versatile. In fact I really only need one 5 string as this could do it all. Highly recommended (and there's one for sale on this very forum at the mo)
16.
Now... due to the unplanned purchase of a blue sparkle modulus Flea Bass.... this superb Status 'Blingray' is up for grabs.... this Bass is a cracker.... very lightweight massive tone !! Recently set up by Dave Wilson - Brand New blue tint Status Graphite Stingray - Brand New hip shot tuners with drop D - Brand New Aguilar MM4 Pickup - Brand New Aguilar OBP1 preamp - Body is from a Sterling Stingray 34 This is a lot of Bass and cost well over £900 to assemble ! Bargain £550 for a quick sale...
If this had been 2 weeks ago I'd have snapped your hand off. I placed a Wanted ad for a Status Stingray neck or bass. I even thought about adding a description of a bass that looked very much like this one that was for sale last year. Hey ho, Status neck currently away being fitted to my black 3 band.
17.
They don't - I've had both bridges before when I was trying to replace one on a bass. The three holes are more spread out; the five holes are closer together.
Bugger! Many thanks
18. A long shot, but do you know if those 3 screw holes line up with the 3 inner most holes on a MIJ Fender 5 hole BBOT ?
19. Bought a Status neck from Eamon. As before, great communication, prompt delivery and item packaged very well. Top Basschatter ! Many thanks (again)
