Just bought a cab from Chris. Lightening fast deal, great communication and even agreed to meet me part way for the handover. Trade with confidence 😉 Many thanks Chris

Nice basses and very well made. I've had a couple - that's me tinkering inside my old one in my avatar. If I was to recommend a well made but low priced bass to someone, one of these would be top of the list. However, for me (as one of the previous posts) having one now would be more for nostalgia over anything else.
My rig from the other night. 1X15" underneath and a pint of mild to top it off.
Very nice it looks too!

Without wanting to fan an already roaring fire, I don't see how 'how many of this brand or that are for sale' can be used as a true barometer of how they are perceived or valued. Many of these sales (and yes including several of my own) are to fund further purchases of products by said manufacturer. I think we all have our fave brands for whatever reason. I just don't think it's particularly good practice or healthy to slate members or manufacturers just because we have differing views. Ultimately each of these brands are very well made, technologically advanced and pretty expensive items that help us do what we do better. -
Up for grabs is my Barefaced Super 12 with Silver Cloth grill. It's one of these: http://barefacedbass.com/index.php?page=super-twelve This cab is in great condition, as loud as you'll ever need, lighter than you'd believe and sounds fantastic. Comes with a Roqsolid cover that is showing signs of wear around the speak-on socket. Almost forgot, I've also changed the original handles to the later Gen 3 type. Looking for a sale only on this thanks. I'm based in South Yorkshire. Collection preferred but willing to meet up for a hand over. Pics to follow a little later (I'm away from home at the mo)

3 amps (after a recent bout of trimming): GK MB Fusion 500 - a pretty recent purchase that I still haven't used in anger Trace Elliot AH250 GP12SMX - great head that I usually find myself running back to every time I stray Trace Elliot Series 6 1215 combo - weighty but compact, great tone, very loud and built to last. I'm just a sucker for old Trace gear! 1 cab: Barefaced Super 12 Silver Cloth - lightweight 2x12, compact and 4 ohms so sucks everything very efficiently from my amps. I'm looking to try a Super Twin as they must be pretty special to top the Super 12 And 6 basses at the moment (1 out on loan and 1 currently up for sale 😉)
The head is rated at 300W into 4 ohms, and this combo has a 4 ohm speaker so supports the full 300W. If using the head itself, it's not recommended to operate with a load less than 8/3 ohm, although plenty folk use it down to 2 ohm (if the power amp overheats the amp load is disconnected via a relay). In all cases the rating is 300W.
Many thanks

Bought a pair of Rack Ears from Martin. Did the deal Sunday and they promptly arrived nicely packaged on Tuesday morning. Top fella - trade with confidence. Thanks again Martin 😀

Bought a wiring harness (complete with new chrome knobs) from John to upgrade my Squier VM Precision V after it became apparent that the jack was more than a little dodgy. Ordered Sunday evening, arrived Tuesday morning, fitted Tuesday evening. Came complete with instructions and even a tiny screwdriver. An absolute doddle to fit and the bass now sounds even better. Powerful tone with a far wider range of tones from full-off to full-on. Very highly recommended. Many thanks again John 😀
Hi Deedee. I take on board what you are saying and it is a salient point. However this is an UNPLAYED bass from 1983, and the fact that I have not played it, only acted as a conduit from the retailer makes it a rare item I believe. If I cannot get a sale at £550 I will have to decide whether to keep it and play it myself (might have to bribe the wife) or wait another couple of years and advertise it again.
Honestly, I'm not questioning your pricing as this bass looks amazing and something of a timewarp example . It was just that in the land of fleabay etc you do get people asking crazy money for their items and so using an advertised classified or 'Buy It Now' price as a bench mark is not always a good indicator of the true market worth. GLWTS
As there are currently examples of the far less sophisticated THUNDER 1A, single pick up, bolt -on neck, currently advertised for between £350 and £425 in used condition I am asking for £550.
This is a lovely bass and I am a big fan of Thunder basses so good luck with your particular sale. It is tricky though looking at advertised prices for comparison. People may be asking for "£350 and £425" for their Thunder 1a, but do they actually sell at that price?
