I'd be very interested if it was available as 4 ohm 😟 My valve amp will go to 2, but my other amps (like many) only go to 4 and I wouldn't want to have different cabs for different heads. As a one cab solution, I think BF may have a limited market of players who'll go for it because of this.

Well, gave the Hexavalve its first outing last night and it sounded fantastic. Now just to explain, this is my first 'all valve' amp (never even played through one before) so this was a bit of an event for me. It really did have a lovely thick, rich sound. I can now understand what people mean about the difference (and how difficult it is to put into words). I've still got to have a proper play with the EQ to tweak it a little but suffice to say, I'm a very happy bunny 🙂

Well, I picked up my 4 ohm BF Super 12 today and gave the Hexavalve a first switch on. Everything works as it should and I can't wait to crank it up at next weeks' rehearsal. Even at bedroom levels it sounded great, but it's going to be scary loud!

The case for that is battered, looks appalling and sort of lets the guitar down (which is in beautiful condition). I managed to pick up a used modern case that fitted great for £20 and have just kept the old case stored away for when it's ready to go into a museum!

Ouchay! And this is why I personally really don't like sending anything by courier. I'd sooner drive a couple of hours than risk it. I have however just taken delivery of an old valve head sent through Parcelforce from deepest, darkest Devon that appears to have made it in one piece. This was mainly due to the valves being protected inside with bubble wrap and the fact that it's in a SKB case!
