1.
Vintage: Proper hefty bass sound with bass played as it should be, as part of a rhythm section. Rugged and manly. Hi-Fi: Widdly-widdly twangy cutlery-drawer-down-the-stairs in your face inappropriate slappy solo nipple-rub for gaylords. I await the backlash with pleasure.
Haha 😂
 2. Interesting thread. My advice, buy an old skool Trace SMX head, press pre-shape 2 and Bingo! You'll cut through any mix 😜
 3. Hi all EHX Bass Big Muff for sale in excellent condition complete with a 9v psu. It's this one: https://youtu.be/N9bJh_YvfrE £40 including mainland UK postage or you're welcome to collect from South Yorkshire. Let me know where you are and a meet up may be possible Thanks
 4. And another PM on its way 😉
 5. Bump for another SMX bargain. With this case it will be the lightest possible version. Jack to speak on connectors are readily available, I have a couple from when I used to play mine with Barefaced cabs. Awesome
 6. Very nice indeed. Congratulations 👍
 7.
Received my new MK1 fretless with Violet stained sycamore facings last night and I couldn't be happier with it. Like my new Ziricote MK3 it is everything I expected and hoped it would be. I usually put labella flats on fretless basses by default but this sounds so good with the nickle rounds it has on it anyway I'm going to keep them for a while (who needs a pristine fingerboard anyway ). The new basses these last couple of weeks are the culmination of several years of trying just about everything out there in the bass world, buying, selling, trading etc. I have settled on Wal basses and I'm now down to owning two instruments that cover all my playing needs. I still have GAS obviously, that'll never go away, but I could quite happily never own another bass for the rest of my days and I am very confident that the two I now have could handle any situation I'm likely to find myself in. Anyway... time for the obligatory garden table pics. I'm away this weekend but I will try and do some recordings in the near future for this and the MK3.
Gorgeous 😍
 8. Another smooth and painless transaction with Andrew who bought my Stingray. Text book 😉 All the best!
 9.
Does anyone have a square peg to fit in this round hole? ... A more serious answer, the Wal socket is much to far recessed for right angled jacks, straights only
Just as I thought. I was hoping there was an obscure company somewhere manufacturing elongated plugs :-/
 10. Hi all I'm after lead with a right angled jack plug on it but it's got to suit a recessed jack socket (as on a Wal). Any suggestions/recommendations? Cheers
 11.
I don't usually love blue basses, but this one is stunning!
It's actually a bluey green colour but it's very difficult to capture on camera
 12. Ever since I saw Bass Tractor's last year, I knew I just had to get my hands on one of these beauties and here it is. Picked it up on Saturday fresh out of it's box and case...........
 13.
4.49kg/9.90lbs; beautifully balanced and very comfy on the strap, to quote my own sale ad from yesteryear! This is a fabulous bass - would but it back in a heartbeat if I had the cash to spare! Deedee is a total gent, folks - buy with 100% confidence! Hi Deedee - enjoy your new Ray when it comes, and I hope you don't regret selling this one to pay for it! Hello tobaccoburst Ray ... Still love you! (Sob) GF
Many thanks GF 😊. I hope you're well? Thanks for clarifying the weight. As you know, it is a gorgeous bass and I am keeping everything crossed on the incoming bass playing as well as it looks. I did consider parting with my Wal, but the thought of watching somebody wander off down the drive with that in their hands made me feel quite ill. So alas, it's this lovely beast that's got to go!
 14. I've no means of weighing the bass unfortunately. I've had several Stingrays over the years and this is certainly one of the heavier ones. I'd guess at 10 lbs plus. Cheers
 15. Hi all Well I have a new PDN Stingray on it's way so unfortunately this beauty has got to go to help pay for it. Purchased from Grammefriday on this very forum, my beautiful 2007 3 band Stingray.

Tobaccoburst finish
Ash body
Maple neck
Maple fingerboard
3 band eq
Original MM hard shell case
This is in fantastic condition other than a dink on the front of the bass between the scratchplate and the lower horn. I touched this in when I bought it and it's now barely noticeable unless you are up real close. I'm in South Yorkshire and would very much prefer collection although I am quite partial to a shady service station type meet up! Cheers
 16. Price or Trade Value : £700 Hi all Well I have a new PDN Stingray on it's way so unfortunately this beauty has got to go to help pay for it. Purchased from Grammefriday on this very forum, my beautiful 2007 3 band Stingray. Tobaccoburst finish Ash body Maple neck Maple fingerboard 3 band eq Original MM hard shell case This is in fantastic condition other than a dink on the front of the bass between the scratchplate and the lower horn. I touched this in when I bought it and it's now barely noticeable unless you're up real close. It plays wonderfully and sounds like thunder. I've no means of weighing the bass but, I've had a few Stingrays and this is one of the heavier ones (so no good for those with a dodgy back I'm afraid). I'm in South Yorkshire and would much prefer collection, although I am partial to a dodgy service station type meet up. No trades thanks Cheers
 17. £350 ono Blond 1963 Hofner President acoustic. Completely original. I purchased this from Dave Mann Music in Nottingham in the mid '90s. If I recall correctly I traded a Senator bass in for it. Very good condition, [s]pictures to follow[/s] There are a few odd marks as you would expect, but all in all it's a beautiful looking instrument. No case so collection/meet up only. I'm based in South Yorkshire but am willing to travel within reason. Cheers Pictures now added
 18.
Too much GAS made me broke today :-) i called, ordered, paid, will be delivered tommorow. My beautiful StingRayess Classic 5. Shes a virgin, nobody ever touched her. I will be her first. I will treat her with respect, dignify her and never put her in somebody elses brace. Cheers
Beautiful. Have fun!
