Hey, all opinions are welcome, it's an open forum. My only experience has been whilst doing a few recent gigs with him. Good player and a nice bloke, but I suspect given a bit of space he has the capability to go off on one T
yeah I accept what youre saying T, is just that he TAKES the space, and anyone in the way gets run over in the middle of the night! thanks for taking things in the spirit meant by the way, I found playing with the guy a wholly "un" enjoyable experince, and I belive bass chatters have the term "guitard" which Azis (again my opinion)maybe fits dont get me wrong on the other level, I'd more than happily say any of this to his face BTW, I'm not slyly bad mouthing him on the forum thinking he'll never know we all know what we think are "better" players, and, I suppose at the end of the day it was some ten years, maybe since I worked with the guy. as you're having such a positive experince maybe things have changed all just opinions though eh? (I often wonder about the term "capability" when used as a byword for "virtuosity" ..can often be at odds KWIM?)

"although I did have one of those hideous "I can't remember how to get from verse to chorus moments" oh yes! I know that feeling. I thought that sort of thing was just ME! thanks for that, Im not losing it !
this is probably going to be a mostly useless post, because i don't really remember how i taught myself, but i remember that i would just sit there and go up and down the open strings and back, like E-A-D-G-D-A-E-A-D.... and so on, usually while watching tv or something to get my mind off of the mindlessness of it. but by double thumbing each string, you become really comfortable playing that technique, and can then move on to play lines and stuff.
even though I cant "do" double thumb stuff ( I wouldnt know it from double cream/top/diamond/jepoardy/ect) the idea of going over& over& over is REALLY sound advice IMO especially while watching tv(Honestley)

Ive played with Aziz on many occasions, at jam nights and not found it too amazing at all. great player, ok guy, and all that, but when he's on, its really a case of "get out of my way" no empathy at all ,sorry no offence meant in anyway(belive me) just the way it was when I played with him EDIT:probably wrong to critisise but too late now! Hope no-one takes this in the "wrong" way!
MB1. ...Unless you taped the certificate of authentication to your head whilst playing this, i doubt anybody would realise it previously belonged to Mark King anyway!.Now if it was F****** Postman Pat Red! i might have had a punt!
I think you would be lucky to pick up one those guitar and basses for a £100. even if they were copies. It was a Harmony Stratatone. £595? http://www.wunjoguitars.com/index.php?sid=1&mid=28
Where's the decimal point in that £595? Both guitar and bass looked like some "crack converter" stuff that would have gone dusty/faded in the shop window to me! (and, incedentally, still does, on second view) I'm too 1985 in my tastes!! Iv'e know nowt since 1997!! I stand corrected Mr Dragon! Atb.. btw I KNOW its not competition, Mr mateybass..just a matter of very a (ill informed) 80s opinion. hope you get my point! I certainly agree with your'e coming from!!

Unlined looks cooler, but I'd be sunk without the side dots.

The one I have, is pictured with two other of my basses on the," musicman porn" thread. for lazy reasons and computer illiteracy(!) unless someone can be ars#d to move it here...ohfff.. thats where its..sorry... I bought it of MB1 not long ago. It's a TOTALLY faultless MK Supernatural (in his colours) a model made in 1986. Anyone know any more extra history? It has the same brass washer round the jack input, as I've seen Mark King jaydees have. I know for a fact its only had two other owners, since leaving the JD workshop (second being MB1, so Im sure thats legit, he REALLY knows his stuff!!) serial no is 71133. I only ask as its SO Mark King spec, was it built for him? and he didn't need it at the time? or had another colour? or whatever? anyone know? nothing more than curious EDIT just the same (almost, as Edmouk's) just a year older same/just as good condition
-
Looks identical(!) to the one I have, though, the tuner/bidge bit is a bit more roadworn. still ,works perfecty, just "cosmetic" scratces ect. (serial no 370 I recall) still love that bass, though not played it for a long time. put a pic on "musicman porn thread" as my musicman was in the same photo ( if anyone THAT bothered )

Ive had disputes with E-bay and pay pal over tickets, and while it was eventually sorted out, they both were very reluctant to help.it was threats from the financial onbudsman that got them to pull thier collecive finger out. so a US based thing I would be careful however, if this guy is in the military there are other sorts of comebacks you can have, if not least, contacting his C/O!!
It's not that it was only 3 notes, that's beside the point.....that is sometimes as simple as a bassline needs to be. But he could have at least played them with some conviction lol Si
mmm...yeah your right (watched it again)
-
when I played "love games" on the released version for polydor... Mark King was sick that day....no its true.....I did .....really....
-
I only caught Foo Fighters, who I think are average at the best of times anyway, and Jay-Z, who was cool but the bass player looked like he wasn't a bass player lol Si
what do you mean his lack lusture performance?I'd agree with that!! any one of us could play the three notes he managed!
-
Norah Jones, guitar and bass player must not have spent more than £100 on kit (including strings) stornaway wtf??? I was in better bands when I was 11,and I MEAN It! but on a more positive note, Jay zee, foo fighters and bless him, Sting, Shi#t hot eh? really good stuff!! edit again due to spelling god Im rubbish!!

While I was down in Bournemouth for the Morriessy gig that was cancelled I saw a status (WASHBURN) red one ,in crack converter in boscombe. It needed some work, but they only wanted £199 for it .I was tempted myself but I've decided to buy my fretless stingray back(!) so....thought you guys should Know.. the shop were a bit sh*tty about photos, so I got none! anyway, hope its still there now I mention it!
