I was just thinking while reading something else, that a good and potentially useful thread for workies/function band players may be, whats the "get in" like at clubs and other venues? for instance loads of north east clubs have 3 flights of stairs and no service lift or rickety fire escapes and the like, where as others have back doors leading directly to the stage! who knew?!? it makes a BIG diffence to your day, and what time you see the chiropractor on monday morning! I'll start, tetley walkers in warrington: 3 flights of metal fire escape, bugger. goose green Labour club in wigan EZy!! side door, no stairs, no carry. Swan inn/stockwell side door dead easy, next to stage! please submit/subscribe gentlemen lets start, the name and shame/pat onthe back list!

Hi Greenking I notice in an earlier post you mention you're a counsellor,I thought that was interesting. your diplomatic/empathatic way of dealing with this problem too, is "spot on" as the "putting the band down" in public, bit, no doubt Pi##es you & your band mates off ,especially after spending time rehearsing!! ( evidently for said guitar players benefit!) well I was thinking (and I'm not being sarcastic or glib BTW) there may well be an interesting thread in "band members I have known/know, who may have Aspergers symdrome" In my experince, anyway, there's loads of them "types"of guys out there, and we don't often identify them because we assume the "creative" aspect of music would have somehow excluded them.do you get my train of thought? It is also possible he's just a git however
Is the 350 quite old? If it does have an XLR as a speaker output (rather than DI) you may be reduced to "daisy chaining" cabs - assuming that they have parallel sockets (in & out) If the 1/4" Jack transpires to be a speaker out, maybe you can use that and the XLR. Subject to the usual condition of not going under the amp's minimum rated impedance- which is likely to be 4Ohms. It's usually quoted on the back panel to stop people from inadavertently frying their amps. Edit - liking the American Werewolf quote under your avatar!
Thats right a cannon(XLR) out and jack, so I assume you dont use both. its not THAT old maybe mid 90s? with 12 eq and compression and yes youre right 4 ohms so daisy chain method makes sense! thanks for that. ATB W ps the quote comes from the fact that thats what the folk from round here are like! thanks again -

Im sure its only got one "cannon" and one "jack"-output could I be mistaken maybe? do you link cabs together in some way...I dunno... -
Hello Chaps, some advice... I'm just about to get hold of an Trace Elliot SMX350 head and a bit confused about the single 3 pin speaker/single jack 'out put' on the back. I'm sure I'm being a bit dense, but can some one reassure me about how I link two cabs to this amp? via, (this one output?) I thinking of/want to link either 2x 4x10 OR 1x4x10 and 1x15 (8ohm cabs) to it as I have both options, but one output?no crossover? online manuals haven't helped! want to speak to a person/user!KWIM? It was sooo... easy with AH500 gp11 head as it was a stereo amp two master volumes on the back and a crossover so I couldnt mess that up.!!! ( thats a mark V GP11 head and will be up for sale soon if interested?...feeler) Im just caucious as not to mess up as I've struggled with "finer" points of connection issues in the past! thank-you gentelmen

Allthough I wouldn't consider myself simply red fan "Somethin' got me started-give it all up for you" really floats my boat when It comes to bass lines. drop D and "nice" slappy bits. oh yeah that reminds me (could be unpopular choice, no doubt.. "love and pride"- king I think the bass man was called Tony Waller(?), all his stuff...respec...) And dont get me started on Nick Beggs....ace on the Bass and also with ABC," look of love" bass lines that Nick Beggs "nails" when covering for those 80's tribute turns
