1.
I've had quite a few PM's about this so I figured I'd just post the answer for all to see. I was hoping for £100 for the pair as the amp is well used and definitely needs some TLC. If you want me to split them, then I'd like £50 for each. Not sure how this fits with other prices on here. As I didn't buy the amp/cab I don't know how old it is or how much they originally cost.
I want this.. pm'd Jim, lemme know what you think,Im prepared to go higher than £100 if the pics are doing it justice, if I'm honest (which I am) £100 is a very good price! lets talk!!
2.
unfortunately not buddy, need all the money i can for my new status
as a fellow Jaydee and status owner/enthusiast myself I feel I should help you out/and on the ladder. where abouts are you? prehaps I can help at £80.
3. what is soul destoying is the fact, that playing some covers is the only real way of getting paying gigs. when it comes to cash its, allways been so.. but punters these days, are not averse to "your version" of a tune, think "smooth crimimal" and stuff like that. x factor/britans got... and things like that, have well buggered up new bands (seen one on there?) ,but I think ,also, conversley, helped the live music scene in a way. everyone wants to be a "star" smoking ban,has made some landlords desparate for business, and has helped a lot, though be careful doing your own publicity.dont end up in the back of a cop van for flyposting in a place you shouldn't(voice of experience) do your thing and dont be afraid if your local pub (that has music on) landlord knows your name and number!!
4. there is something to be said about that fact 5ers are usually "boffins" as we used to say at school. again, please, its just a laugh, Ive had to "buy a pint" for one BCer allready today for causing, offence, and he was right! 5 string bass?....welcome to ...Jazz club.....nice!.....

6. If you have a girly singer ( as we did once ) Dean friedmans" lucky stars" segued into "ariel" was(is) a total camenberet/brie moment. No amount of Jacobs can...... I REALLY did these things,...... for money!
7. Haa Haaaaa!! Mythste. at 13.00/14.00what about a "hair of the dog?" it would be rude not to really. that's if you've no gig tonight
8. you know what you should try?... a band I was in used to do Kings' "love and pride" segued into kangaroopoos' "too shy" I kid you not, the disproportionately good response was something to behold on a regular basis. and a good bit of bassage fun to boot! sorry if this is off your topic. ATB
9.
I suspect it's the usual limits to written communication that caused my annoyance i.e. it's my problem. You probably said the comment in good humour and I interpreted it as a bombastic arrogant statement of fact. Such is the nature of these things sometimes and I meant no offence either. Whatever floats your boat, there's more important aspects to a bass methinks than the number of strings on it. Peter
top man! and.. I think the word "bombastic" isnt used enough!!! good luck .Peter! (arrogant... I get a lot!)
10. intros good. makes sense of the rest of the track! not my thing, but its well good!! top man yourself.
11. I was just worried I'd peed someone off! didnt mean to!!!soz chaps!
12.
Why does it always piss me off when someone comes out with comments like this End of!
OOOHHH!!! sorry! prehaps you care TOO much though, that's not a bad thing end of.

19.
Not me, but it did happen to friend of mine. He's a huge Billy Cobham fan and went to see him at the Jazz Cafe in Camden, problem was he took the wife. Whilst having their meal upstairs overlooking the stage, Billy Cobham passes by on his way to the dressing room only to have my mate's wife accost him and say "My husband is your biggest fan". He say's the earth couldn't open up and swallow him quickly enough.
well intentioned dames!! you'ze gotta love 'em!!!
20. Anyone heard of Charlie Moreno? I met him at bass day2006(?) bought a cd off him, after a mark bass demo, told him he was the best player on that day, and said good bye. he said he and his mates were off for some lunch and I was welcome to join them if I wanted...err... Ive missed the point of this one havent I ? anyway he was a true gentleman though.
21. OH..the other thing by the way, have you tried knocking out(should I say cutting) some of the lower ends of your EQ? ( poss around 440?) that cured a similar problem with an open E, as I remember, for me. this had no detrimental effect to the overall sound as I only cut one slider try that as well
22. Cheer up old son! its really not the end of the world, I've had that "resonance distortion" thing with some of my T/E cabs fairly recently.and with mine, anyway,as they were old, have been told it is evitable, that given time, some peices of kit do "pass away".... (sings: when I was a lad and old shep was a pup....ect) but to help you out/give solution; if it is only one driver thats blown they are'nt as dear as you'd think. another BCer put me in touch with PCS web site, for example or (even better) watford valves website ,I think it was, for proper Trace Elliot ,celestion, 10' drivers and so, the "proper" replacements. if like me you're rubbish with a soldering iron and totally unsure what to do when replacing stuff I'm sure it'll be a doddle for most good amp techs/doctors who would most likely charge a nominal fee for this kind of thing..A tenner maybe, while you wait? hope thats of some help dont worry/be depressed!! its easy to sort out...if youve a gig tonight ...eerr..thats another issue/BC thread ATB
23. I want it soooo much, It could make a grown man cry..... Ah well but if all falls through..... (Im at the back of a very long que arn't I?)
24. "Sex on Fire" eh?.... well now.. take 3 of these a day with food, apply some cansten cream, avoid alcohol during the course of the tablets, and see me again if it hasn't cleared up in three weeks...NEXT!..... (the Doctor is, IN. )
