Yep, in no hurry at all so no problem if you want to have a think about it. I may be up in Shropshire this weekend but if thats to soon, then around Xmas time, I plan to go to my sisters at some point and she lives in Preston. So no rush. Like I say, I did really want to try a 2EQ but will take a 3EQ. Have a think and let me know and we can go from there.
Preston is nice and close, when are coming up there? its not really a case of "too soon" just has to be a weekend (busy this one though!)
The earlier S2000 models had the active/passive switch but that was removed from the later models. Must admit it is quite useful on mine as the preamp has problems and might need replacing.
never tried my one passive ie taking out batteries but admittedley never wanted to! do you think switch ommission was a redesign feature to cut out trouble your'e having? whaddya think?
It's completely unprofessional to slag off somebodies gear like that if you work in a music shop - if he'd done that to me I'd have taken my money elsewhere. I notice that this shop doesn't stock Aguilar - I always question the validity of anything said about a piece of gear by someone that works in a music shop if they don't happen to stock that particular make. I know of music shops that make a point of rubbishing certain brands just because they've refused to let the shop stock their equipment (you have to wonder why they wanted to stock that stuff in the first place if they think it's crap). I've seen it happen so many times before - a shop will slag off a make of bass, amp or whatever & then 6 or 12 months later they're now stocking that same piece of gear & saying how great it is.
I dont really think "ford" is an insult, its, reliable, good looking, industry standard and if you were thinking of buying a van surley a transit would be among the first choices...? I totally agree with your point about disenfanchised dealers though, Ive been told by a two, Trace Elliot gear is (literally) "rubbish" and, say what you like, its not. On both occasions, one look round the shop, big shock, no Trace gear. "I wouldnt stock it anyway mate" ....yeah right.... anyway... its been nice so...errr..bye..

Well... what can I say? MB1 WHAT A GUY!! I bought a great peice of kit of him today. Something I asked him for first refusal on, if he got one, a long time ago. and he prooved to be a man of his word, and now I HAVE a jay dee mark king supernatural II in level 42 colour(s)red,Something I've that I have wanted/dreamt of since I was 18 years of age,and thats a LONG time since. He had allways said he'd find one and understandably when he had, wasn't that keen to part with it,but a lot of begging ( I'll be honest! ) I turned him round on it. The thing is, that in my opnion ,makes him a real gentelman, and that Ive botherd to write is the fact he KNEW how much I wanted this guitar, and didnt use it as an opportunity to "do business" or for want of a better way of putting it,shaft me. MB1 treated me like the fan and enthusiast I am,and I'm eternally grateful for this quite selfless attitude. without over doing the praise thing /thanks I should also mention he also took me to a good gear shop and used his influence/contact so I could hear the JD at gig volume! and that even showed a tiny niggle with string heights that I now know how to sort out. if you're buying or selling from this guy I'd 100% reccomend him. As I sit pleased with my new purchace, I'm wiping a nostalgic, lost youth, tear from my eye (honest!)& Im happy to give MB1 the most sincere 100%positive feed back. MB1 I'm a happier man tonight, may the road rise to meet you! Edit: "Done many a deal with martin over the years but I ain't gonna get all soft over it We drinkin beer at Bass Day matey?" not being "soft" as you put it, just genuine.... Witterth P.S. his Mrs does a mean line in her own original Paintings too!! P.P.S. he wasnt wearing shades at any point
Looks like I can afford that terrible £100,000 bass in the porn forum. Oh well...
But we REALLY dont want to give you that.....
-
Well that was Dave from Brighton who walks away with £500,000......and were going to a break just now!! when we come back, fastest fingers(?) who has them?.....ads...
-
I favour what I'd call a medium length. The bass ought to stay in roughly the same place sitting or standing.
that Dave ,is the correct answer! you have, £500,000 and 3 life-lines. do you want to play the next question?
To be honest I'd give Rob a call at Status, he's very good at helping with this sort of thing.
+another

Which of my basses should i use for a video?
witterth replied to gafbass02's topic in General Discussion
If you use the white one, any lighting colour changes can make it looks your guitar is changing colour on camera, had you considered that? Good luck with the shoot, they are, IMO, quite "fussy" and "boring" days, And Ive only done it twice(!), so enjoy a few beers at the same time! not like you're really playing know what I mean -
I'm about to collect back some cabs that have lain dormant for years in a pub cellar, provided damp ( which is a distinct possibility ) hasn't ruined them I ve heard new/havent been used in ages, speakers should be "run in " what does that mean no more than 56mph?? seriously what should I do? they are 2x10 & 2x18 4ohm Trace elliot cabs (regular readers- "oh no not THEM AGAIN!! )
Most are 8 Ohm, including 1048, 2103, 1153, 1818, 1518 etc. Only exceptions that I can think of (excluding the bright boxes!) are; 1524 (2x15") 1084 (8x10") The cab numbers run like this (generally speaking) Driver diameter, Number of Drivers, Impedance Hence 1524 is 15" (x)2 4 Ohm I really can't recall what the V-type cabs were called, or what their impedance was! I think they did a 2x15, 4x12 and 4x8 at the very least. They may be worthy of investigation...
Thanks for that may be Ill not bother with 2x10 dunno
