  1. The ACS PRO17s have changed by life. A flat response, I can have conversations at a normal level with them in, and I can sing without it feeling strange. Custom moulded, and only £40 quid(!!!!) via the Musician's hearing scheme. Incredible. I don't know what the audiologist referred to in the OP is on about, but when I gig with these in there seems to be absolutely nothing that could damage my hearing. I'd need to know more.
  2. Are you the clickbait police? Honestly, just move on.
  3. Last I heard, the UK price of the R-400 was £650 (and the WB-100 was £800) but that might have changed since. As mentioned above, drop Leszek an email at [email protected]. Or if you do Facebook, message via https://www.facebook.com/HandBoxAudio/ - I find him quicker to respond on there.
  4. Last I heard, the UK price of the R-400 was £560 (and the WB-100 was £800) but that might have changed since. As mentioned above, drop Leszek an email at [email protected]. Or if you do Facebook, look for Leszek Brzozowski - I find him quicker to respond on there.
  5. Of course it matters, otherwise it would be more convenient to just turn up with a large rubber band.
  6. Ha ha.. Never tried one, but if I was a betting man I'd put a big pile of money on 'Awesome'.
  7. Amen to that. The perfect match*. *They sound awesome with rounds too, mind.
  8. Flats are all about the mids, IMO. The head and 2x12 (non-tweeter) cab I use really lets them shine - lots of clarity, far more than just 'thump'.
  9. I guess they have enough quiet confidence in the performance of the amp not to have to dress it up like an Australian's nightmare 😄
  10. Yeah, I completely agree that there was something in the water at Fender late 60's / early 70s. Every one I've had (and this is my.. err.. 7th, I think?) has been a beauty. Nice weight, resonant, with 'that' neck profile, of course they sound great (IMO)... and they look fab. Once I've got a couple of tweaks done, I'll post more pics and give the full lowdown.
  11. There doesn't seem to be a pronounced dead spot on this, but none of my rosewood P's seem to suffer from it either.
  12. That’s good for you. If MB decide to stop designing amps that look like Homer Simpson’s dream car, they might just start appealing to those who do care what their amp looks like. Just a thought.
  13. Thank you. To be honest, I was never away. It slots nicely between my '71 and '73. 😄
  14. Oh aye.. I knew that, but completely forgot in my enthusiasm. I stand corrected.
  15. Hey gang Following a recent fling with a '63 Precision, which made me realise the early 60's neck profile isn't for me, I'm back in the bosom of the lovely fat early 70s P neck. I picked this up a few days ago - it's a '72, with a neck stamp dated the month & year of my birth. It's light (about 8.5lbs) and resonant, original black, with a maple neck. They're just teaser pics at the moment as it needs a little bit of love, but I'll post the full story soon. In the meantime, I can barely stop playing it...
  16. Of late? They've always looked minging*. *IMO, and not intended to be a comment on their performance
  17. OK.. here you go: https://soundcloud.com/wateroftyne/home-9-01 (Not sure why it didn't embed..?)
