    The problem with the cover is not just that it isn’t very good - it’s actually embarrassing and will probably put people off. And - in the voice of Liz Truss - that’s a shame.

    I like this. The only thing that makes my teeth itch is that it looks like there is a black plastic truss access point at the headlock like the MIMs, etc. It cheapens the look of it slightly (IMO of course).

    Yep, I've got a 'burst Okamoto. Very nice bass. The basswood body is a non-issue. It might as well be alder.

    My amp's probably done c.200 gigs since the post above, and it hasn't skipped a beat. I don't expect to have to replace them any time soon.

    Well, it’s only the nitro that’s distressed. 50+ years of tab smoke, temperature changes, sweaty venues and scuffs will do that.
