  1. You’ve posted something here which potentially turns perceived wisdom on its head. I don’t think we can be blamed for not taking it as gospel, given that there’s other hard evidence anywhere that anyone has found (yet?) that back his statement up, and now you’re backtracking slightly Believe me, I want to do what is right and practical for my ears, and ‘This bloke at a H&S conference says..’ doesn’t qualify. Was he representing and ear defender company by any chance? Pneumatic drills, jet engines and that?
  2. Did he tell you they literally don’t work?
  3. Ive been a member for years and years - never had a problem. There’s some helpful folks on there. I just bear in mind that they’re generally American, and there’s far more of ‘em than there is on BC - that way, there’s no suprises. If you REALLY want summick to whinge about, get yourself over to the old FDP. That place was the village of the damned for Fender lovers.
  4. I don’t see any attacking, just a push for clarification, some forthright opinions and a robust defence.
  5. 'The plugs don't work, they just make you worse...'
  6. So you're standing by your thread title, literally written, i.e. 'Ear plugs don't work'? OK. Stop using them, and let us know how you get on.
  7. I only heard about it through you. If he has proof that 99.9% of us - including other hearing experts, it would seem - are being mislead, with the possible consequence of widespread hearing damage, surely this is massive news, and he should be doing what he can to shake up the whole industry..?
  8. Right... if he’s right, he needs to shout about it a bit more because I suspect 99.9% of us are being mislead.
  9. It worked for me 🙂
  10. I'm thinking...
  11. The ACS PRO17s have changed by life. A flat response, I can have conversations at a normal level with them in, and I can sing without it feeling strange. Custom moulded, and only £40 quid(!!!!) via the Musician's hearing scheme. Incredible. I don't know what the audiologist referred to in the OP is on about, but when I gig with these in there seems to be absolutely nothing that could damage my hearing. I'd need to know more.
  12. Are you the clickbait police? Honestly, just move on.
  13. Last I heard, the UK price of the R-400 was £650 (and the WB-100 was £800) but that might have changed since. As mentioned above, drop Leszek an email at [email protected]. Or if you do Facebook, message via https://www.facebook.com/HandBoxAudio/ - I find him quicker to respond on there.
  14. Last I heard, the UK price of the R-400 was £560 (and the WB-100 was £800) but that might have changed since. As mentioned above, drop Leszek an email at [email protected]. Or if you do Facebook, look for Leszek Brzozowski - I find him quicker to respond on there.
  15. Of course it matters, otherwise it would be more convenient to just turn up with a large rubber band.
  16. Ha ha.. Never tried one, but if I was a betting man I'd put a big pile of money on 'Awesome'.
  17. Amen to that. The perfect match*. *They sound awesome with rounds too, mind.
  18. Flats are all about the mids, IMO. The head and 2x12 (non-tweeter) cab I use really lets them shine - lots of clarity, far more than just 'thump'.
  19. I guess they have enough quiet confidence in the performance of the amp not to have to dress it up like an Australian's nightmare 😄
  20. Yeah, I completely agree that there was something in the water at Fender late 60's / early 70s. Every one I've had (and this is my.. err.. 7th, I think?) has been a beauty. Nice weight, resonant, with 'that' neck profile, of course they sound great (IMO)... and they look fab. Once I've got a couple of tweaks done, I'll post more pics and give the full lowdown.
  21. There doesn't seem to be a pronounced dead spot on this, but none of my rosewood P's seem to suffer from it either.
  22. That’s good for you. If MB decide to stop designing amps that look like Homer Simpson’s dream car, they might just start appealing to those who do care what their amp looks like. Just a thought.
  23. Thank you. To be honest, I was never away. It slots nicely between my '71 and '73. 😄
  24. Oh aye.. I knew that, but completely forgot in my enthusiasm. I stand corrected.
