I had no volume issues with the WA - if you have sensitive enough cabs, it'll handle whatever you throw at it.
I did yearn for more mid definition at higher volumes, hence why I switched to the Handbox R-400 (which I still see as a Walkabout Plus).
Both are exceptional heads.
Byron Berline is a legendary fiddle & mandolin player, who has played with some of the biggest names in music over the decades. He owns an instrument shop in Oklahoma, which burned to the ground a couple of days ago. Hundreds of instruments were destroyed,. But what of the 1923 Lloyd Loar F-5 mandolin in the safe..?
I might be reading this wrong, but it seems to be about a small festival, which raises money for charity, using photos - which it may or may not own - to promote this years' event.
It doesn't sound like the kind of thing to lose sleep over. No-one's going to be going on a holiday to the Maldives at your expense.
From the brief time I used it, I think I can notice a difference. The upgraded transformer feels a bit thicker, if that's even possible.
Mind, it could be my imagination, so take it with a pinch of salt.
Loud. Yes it could, if you don't mind it getting a but hairy when you dig in. I think I posted a clip earlier in this thread from which illustrates it. I imagine it would sound mint through a decent 6x10.
It's cosmetic changes, from what I can see. Despite the the previously noted plastic nuts on the jack (I'd prefer metal, too), it feels as solid as the last one. I don't think anything's been tinkered with internally.
One of the reasons Amazon can afford to have such good customer service is probably because they pay so little tax.
It’s a heck of an advantage to have over the little brick-and-mortar shop on the high street who has to wrestle with a tiny margin.
In the meantime, Amazon continues to hoover up the market share (including me, it has to be said).
Plank of wood with an ash tray nailed to it that makes people happy, and is almost guaranteed to appreciate in value.
I can totally understand the appeal.
Here's one.
I had a '72, with the humbucker.
Unusually, it was a featherweight and played beautifully, but I couldn't get a single usable tone out of it.
