  1. You learn it as the songwriter intends, which can be done either by following the dots, or just having a good ear.
  2. I probably am, and thank you. 'Right place, right time' can never be underestimated 😄
  3. The band learn it as the songwriter intends. And if it sounds cack, they persuade him/her to standardise it into something that feels right.
  4. Ha.. I'm fine until I get to a song with stops or stabs. Then it all falls apart (apparently) 😄
  5. Err... OK. I stand by my previous comment 🙂
  6. What do you consider a 'theoretical framework'?
  7. I doubt that's directly related to a lack of theoretical understanding.
  8. It's all horses for courses. Is it useful? Undoubtedly. Is it important? It depends.
  9. Maybe. But for every 'some great moments', there's far more great moments out there, on-line, waiting to be discovered.
  10. I depends on context, I suppose. I don't read, but I don't really knock around with musicians who rely on it, so it's never been a problem.
  11. People still buy these mags? ..actually, I guess not. That's why they're merging. Hooray for BC, I say.

  13. There are a lot of queens reigning in countries around the world. I imagine most of them are well respected, and do lots of great stuff. Also, some are more well-known than others. In those terms, Aretha is Queen Elizabeth II.
  14. It's a Fender(style) thing, It's usually only noticeable if you're looking for it, and you certainly can't hear it. It shouldn't put anyone off buying this bass.
  15. Ha.. that would be nice. The most recent quote I heard was £900 delivered.
  16. Ah, that's sad to hear. I bought a couple of pre's off him back in the day. RIP.
  17. They've been around a loooooong time already.
  18. Ah, hello old friend. What plate do you fancy for it?
  19. I agree - it is irrelevant, and the marketing is mischievous at best. When they (and I'm not just talking about TC here) create a '500w' head that can lay it down with the sheer authority of my 100w valve head, my ears will prick up. I'm a bit bored of false dawns, TBH.
