  1. Many Class D's state that their power rating is c.500w. But they ain't.
  2. That doesn't confirm the spec of the BH550. I'll have to remain sceptical.
  3. I was referring to the Rush tribute band, not Jazz. 😇
  4. Do you have any opinions about the people who were entertained by Love Island?
  5. OMG I have a stalker. Seriously though, I was wrong. It's pure cack.
  6. I was possible complimentary about it for a few weeks... until the novelty wore off and I realised it was a steaming pile of poo. Since then, I no longer come to conclusions about amps until after the honeymoon period has worn off.
  7. I can’t remember the specifics, but there’s an audio clip on Youtube of a Rush gig where one of ‘em does a flub, and for a few seconds it collapses into a proper tuneless cacophony. just listen to that section on repeat.
  8. I think Bilbo’s always struggled to understand why he should stoop to the levels of entertaining people less clever than himself 😄
  9. I do a mixture of venue sizes. I play with so many people the consistency of kit just isn't there, so the idea of using ears just doesn't appeal. I don't fancy getting stuck somewhere where there aren't enough mixes, or the monitors aren't up to it, or (or the PA in smaller gigs). It's not exactly a hardship to carry backline around, and if you choose wisely it'll be an easy lift , and sound marvellous. IEMs are clearly the answer to many, but not all.
  10. re: my Diet Coke analogy above, I think it's appropriate 'cos I wonder if we have become so used to the size, light weight and availability of the micros, we've forgotten what a 'proper' power stage actually feels like. Truth is, it's not really relevant to your average punter watching the gig, but from a player's perspective, that tactile response is SO satisfying. IMO, IME, etc.
  11. ..until I hear hard facts otherwise, I'm going to have to assume it's not a 'true' 550 watt head. Not least because if it was, it would be one of the only Class D's out there to live up to its marketing claim.
  12. Crazy. I’ve got a 100w valve head that would leave the Bugera in a pile of wreckage, not to mention the other ICEPower Diet Coke amps. I just ignore power ratings now. At least EBS tried to be honest with the Reidmar, but I bet sales suffered.
  13. The thing is, it’s only TC that admitted it. Given the shared technology, I bet there’s a few others whistling on the sidelines, hoping no-one will notice.
  14. ...incidentally, I wonder how many watts it really is?
  15. A 500-watt revolutionzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
  16. How long 'till it started shifting? Did anything happen beforehand? Did you speak to Adrian straight away? Sorry for all the questions 🙂
  17. That's correct. Out of curiousity, what's the timeline here? Was the bass crocked when you got it?
  18. ...or do you mean from one Polish facility to another? If so, my apologies.
  19. FWIW, they've been built in Poland for years...
  20. Ouch. Daft question - did you turn it the right way?
  21. That’s a really unfortunate thing to happen. Did you tweak the truss at any point?
  22. After a couple of years' service, one of the preamp valves threw the towel in last week so I took the opportunity to replace them all. It was pretty straightforward - little bit of effort is involved in getting the head out of the case, but nothing too taxing. It's all ready to go for tomorrow night 🙂
  23. Best I’ve heard. If I was to nit-pick, the bass tone isn’t quite right IMO.
