To be fair, as great a live band Floyd were post-Roger, the albums have been pretty weak.

It’s cheeky. And he certainly shouldn’t lie when asked about the ‘D’. Truth is, can’t see anything in his feedback from aggrieved punters who’ve bought these instruments.

What fate awaits these people? Are these instruments going to fall apart in their hands?

99% positive feedback. Cheeky or not, he's making people happy.

FWIW, I've got an Olympus E-M5II which I love, but the preamp is a hopeless, hissy mess.

The Zoom comes loaded with compromises that you'll have to work around, and it's no surprise that less-than-stellar low-light performance is one of them. Bear in mind the whole thing costs around the same as an DSLR kit lens. If the lighting is murky, I have to do a fair bit in post. If it's especially bad, monochrome works a treat.

Hello! That'll be gig volume, I'd say. A lot of it depends on how the drive and feedback is configured, too. They make a big difference. So far I've not encountered any shortage of volume, but I guess VERY loud rock band in a packed pub with no PA support could be a stretch.

I can't argue with that. I tend to chop'n'change during quiet spells.

So this is what I've been totin' for the last month or so. It's a Handbox WB-100, and it's really rather lovely. Thread here:

I regularly gig without a compressor. It invariably ends in hordes of incredulous gig goers RIOTING IN PROTEST because I've ruined their night.

Aaand... here was mine. It really light. It was lush. But I found myself running it in 'P' config 95% of the time, without ever quite sounding exactly like a P. so I sold it and bought another P.

Electricity's in short supply since the Beast from the East, y'know!

..by the way, I have a quiet couple of weeks, so if anyone on Tyneside-ish would like to give it a run out, let me know. I'm not sure what the plans are for it after Lezsek prises it out of my fingers - I'll find out.

OK - so I've also done a couple of gigs with this head into a single 8ohm TKS 1x12. The first one was a party in a hotel with a full band. I had PA support, but no bass in the monitors, so I had to turn up to give a bit of stage coverage. Last night's gig was with a lively, energetic acoustic trio in a packed, noisy pub. No drums, but the bass has to be there because it's down to me to drive it. The WB-100 puts 120w into 8ohm, too - my goodness it kicks. It's tactile, rich and fat. At both gigs I half-expected to hit its ceiling, but I'm amazed at how solid it sounded. 120 old-school watts goes a LONG way. It's just gorgeous.

Great basses. Custom shop quality - one of Fender's better crazy ideas.
