  1. If he's so socially right-on, why didn't he sell the car and get a few homeless people off the street? Or donate it to a charity to auction?
  2. Cheers, Conan! Yep - my R-400 has a vinyl cover, and if the WB-100 was staying with me, the first thing I'd do would be to get one made for that, too. Really it would be to protect the tolex and keep moisture out, but I'm like you - the sight of big glass bottles through the grille makes me slightly paranoid. I guess it is paranoia - guitarists lug these things around all the time without giving it a second thought. I suspect the feedback switch will make more sense at volume. I left it in centre (rock) position most of the time, but during rehearsals I tried it on the 'pop' setting and it felt tighter, almost solid-state. Possibly useful in a boomy room, or at louder volumes. The 'Funk' setting didn't grab me, but I didn't really spend much time on it. Maybe it's a slap thing? Enjoy the rehearsal - don't forget to pull the bass back if you need to, and go easy on the contour (at first, anyway).
  3. What a load of cobblers that was.
  4. Oh, I know aaaall about Strat :-D
  5. Ha. If only it were true. This amp is waiting for ya :-)
  6. I don't really do nerves any more, but I had expected them to make an appearance on the day of the show. Surprisingly, they didn't...
  7. Here's some proper photos of the show and that... https://www.sundayforsammy.org/2018-photo-gallery
  8. Tiny Tim & The Band.
  9. Charlie Drake, Peter Gabriel, Robert Fripp, Phil Collins & Sandy Denny. What do I win?
  10. Ha.. that would be nice. I doubt Leszek could take the hit of discounting or giving one away, and if he could, he'd probably be wise to save it for the big-hitters. But you've nailed it - I just love the amp(s) and I think they should have a higher profile*. There's not a lot of comparable kit out there. *See also TKS & Maruszczyk, who I've also previously shouted from the rooftops about :-)
  11. Oh, and the actual lighting was designed by this chap: http://eugeneoconnor.co.uk/
  12. My description isn't missing the DI bit. Look again :-) The mic? I don't know. I leave that to Nitelites. They're one of the most respected in the business, so I assume they know what they're doing :-D There was another SD7 side-stage for monitoring.
  13. Ah, the Sirens of Scotswood. Incredible singers, and lovely people.
  14. See blurry pic for 'after' :-) As far as the DVD mix goes, it's being edited from two shows, each over 3.5 hours long. I don't know how many channels were on the go, but there were two SD7's running in FOH - one for music, one for everything else. My head hurts thinking about it. The lighting was awesome - Shaun is one of the best in the biz... as are Nitelites in general. We're very lucky to have them up here.
  15. The mic that was set up after the photo was taken :-D Both DI & mic, giving options for FOH and DVD mix. Nowt unusual there. The DVD mix is being done a a great local studio. The engineer is fantastic, which is just as well, as doing a mix (and cut, for that matter) of this show is going to be a herculean task. Thank you. Arenas are pretty dull places, so the producers pulled out all the stops to make it a bit of a cut above. There were a lot of raised eyebrows when it was announced that the show was moving from the City Hall, but it's fair to say it's been a huge success. And yes, Joe is an astonishing singer. he also sang 'Time to Say Goodbye' to a track, and took the roof off. Marvellous.
  16. Ha ha.. of course. It's ready when you are :-)
  17. It's incredible. The R-400 became a backup for the weekend. I didn't have much - if any - in my monitor... I just cooked on backline, and the WB-100 was more than capable. Loads of clean volume. When it came to Video Killed the Radio Star, I picked up a plec, hit the bright switch and dug in, and it growled like a beast. On the soulier P-and-flats stuff, it was beautifully round. I honestly would be happy with the R-400, but somehow the WB sounds even bigger and richer, and it feels like a work of art. I'm trying to decide if it's overkill for my needs. But then it's still a one-hand lift. But I haven't got the cash anyway. It's overkill. I think. Isn't it?
  18. Oh, I forgot to mention - The Script are in the Arena today, and needed the hall to be clear by 2am this morning. Our gig finished at 11pm, giving the crew - who'd basically worked non-stop all weekend - about three hours to strike the hall. Three hours to get all that out, including the backstage village and the huge amounts of kit you can't see in the photos. And they managed it. Those lads and lasses are total legends.
  19. Just four thumbscrews. Head removed in 10 seconds.
  20. Thank you :-) Here's another crappy clip with mad edits pinched from YouTube. I absolutely LOVED playing this - it's just a steam train of a song.
  21. Absolutely, but I was referring to the original spec, as per your comment. Why they canxed that design is a complete mystery to me - the sequel didn't really set the world alight.
