  1. Being able to turn up and play with minimum fuss counts for a hell of a lot. Because the hobbyist will be being ferried about by another hobbyist who is potentially now finding it less of a hobby.
  2. I've worked with loads of musicians who don't / can't / won't drive, and they all fall into different categories. Some of them assume they're making their own way unless offered a lift, and are extremely grateful when that happens. The worst ones are the ones who half-expect to be picked up and dropped off by someone else, for petrol money or 'a couple of drinks', forgetting that the driver has to leave earlier, get home later, and pay a chunk of money for having a car in the first place. Good luck to any drummers out there without a car... (I appreciate life is different in central London, etc. so the above doesn't apply)
  3. Ha... yeah. We’re just a bunch of pals who all. play with other people, and sometimes each other. The fiddle player is in Sting’s band, so we don’t see him much :-D
  4. I knwo we're getting OT a bit, but... sometimes you just have one of those nights...
  5. I've got the Q4n - it's grand.
  6. Well - and I must stress I can take 'em or leave 'em - they wrote some great anthems that the kids latched onto. And lots of those kids also picked up guitars because of them... I'm sure we'd all agree that's a good thing. I wouldn't say the musical scene was dire at the time, but it was in danger of disappearing up its own derrière. Oasis reminded us that normal people can start a band, have fun, and make a shedload of money.
  7. ...but they were cool in the eyes of the people who's opinion really counted at the time.
  8. Four different versions of the MM head? What a strange idea.
  9. There's actually more about the rest of them in there than I expected...
  10. Not a big fan, but a great doc.
  11. Anticipation is half the fun :-)
  12. This thread is making me impatient. Must.. not.. pester... Mark... for... an... update...
  13. A few months? Remind me never to lend you any of my stuff :-D
  14. Nailed in the first response. Well done, sir.
  15. That's the thing with Fender, ain't it? No matter what they do, they're accused of being either too outlandish, or too dull...
  16. Adrian Maruszczyk must laugh his socks off whenever Fender come out with an updated range & price list...
  17. Lake Placid Blue! Yay! ..and tort. Wut?
  18. Just bought some strings from Paul, and what a nice chap he is. Cheers, @Pow_22!
  19. The J pickup on yours is in the 60's position - i.e. further from the bridge. It'll honk less than the 70s position, but in theory it'll be louder as there's more string movement where it is - so it should balance better with the louder P pickup.
  20. Seems to be rackmountable, too...
  21. Lezsek has sent me the proper dimensions - lord knows where I got the other ones from. Apologies for the confusion...
  22. Lovely!
  23. Hmm... good point. I'll ask Leszek to confirm..
