  1. I agree, but that's up to the original poster.
  2. Ah, hello Mr. Rees Mogg! I had no idea you were a BCer..?
  3. I agree, albeit with a tweak. So here's where we are now: "As with most threads on this subject, this has become a bit silly." Any other suggestions?
  4. Actually, I'd take issue with the entire sentence, not just the grammar. I suggest the following: "Like most threads on this subject, this has become a bit silly." I've removed "I think..." as it's self-evident. I've then reversed what remains, arming the reader with context before delivery of the salient point.
  5. I remember when that thread was all fields.
  6. Yeah... I hate it when threads are ruined by discussion, too.
  7. ...but anyway, fiddle and accordion also belongs in roots, folk, country, latin, blues, soul and loads of other genres.
  8. It's just... 'Celtic folk'... it sounds like the tat you get on relaxation CDs from the market.
  9. Ooh.. massively disagree! IMO They're a cliche in 'celtic folk' (*shudders at the term*)
  10. See quote edit for a significant part of the answer.
  11. Yep - my full-scale Jakes are around that, too. And they balance perfectly.
  12. I'd be amazed if it's even the real-world equivalent of 500w.. ** ducks behind rock **
  13. 8.5lbs is pretty light, and Skyline's aren't renowned for their light weight. *WARNING: WoT'S PREDICTABLE STANDARD RESPONSE ALERT* For the thick end of a grand you could pick up a nice light Maruszczyk Jake. Like this one: https://www.public-peace.de/bass-guitars/maruszczyk/jake/4-string/515-jake-4p-heavy-aged-classic140400
  14. They're kinda like more expensive TKS S212's :-)
  15. Journey of the Sorcerer is ingrained in my DNA. Cosmic American Music.
  16. Ah, man - I love the accordion. It's such a joyous thing!* *And Mrs. WoT plays it
  17. Is it not specifically the woozy pedal steel you have an aversion to? Dave G.'s more a lap steel guy. I like pedal steel, but it can quickly fall into cliche. When it's played well, it's a beautiful thing.
  18. I can’t abide that horrible affected ‘cute’ voice used by many singers, quite often at open mics and on supermarket and mobile phone ads. It sounds like they’ve swallowed a duck call. Just sing in your own voice, man.
  19. Y'know the most depressing thing? It's not actually him on the track. He made his name miming along to someone else's whistling. What a tragic existence.
  20. ...but not in headstock design. If I owned that, I’d need to put a brown paper bag on it.
  21. I didn't get on with the Steamliner 900 either. It was 'there', but there was nothing behind it.. (I'm not going to use that word, however much I want to) It's a trait I found with a number of heads using similar technology around the time. Maybe the latest generation of stuff feels different? I dunno - I'm not in a hurry to try.
  22. "Happy new year, marketing team! You're all fired."
  23. I'd penny in the evening, but each to their own.
  24. Lots of people on TB have a bee in their bonnet about the Walkabout's fan noise, too. I've owned two of them, and neither have been a problem for me. It's a puzzler.
