  1. Yes, given that music is more of an art than a science.
  2. Who cares about the chords? What does it sound like? To some people, it's musical Nirvana. To others - me included - it's by-and-large a cacophony. In simple terms, it's a flavour I haven't developed a taste for. Maybe one day I will.
  3. C'mon, you're going to have to do better than that. Why?
  4. But.. who's opinion of the music is right? The people who dismiss it as fast, widdly nonsense? Or the world-renowned musicians? They're both right, of course.
  5. There's lots of music out there that is theoretically 100% correct, yet still offensive to my ears. Ultimately, how it sounds to the individual, is all about perception and opinion.
  6. It is, really. Anyone can play whatever they like, and call it music. The audience can choose to like it or loathe it.
  7. You're looking for the 'START NEW TOPIC' button :-)
  8. I don't think everyone's missing the point.
  9. But y'know, if only The Beatles had paid more attention to their critics. They might have ended up more than a minor footnote in history.
  10. That stuff looks a bit like regular modern-day pepperoni..?
  11. Just as well you added that caveat, otherwise the previous poster might have felt very hurt.
  12. For a long time Bernard Purdie has claimed he overdubbed a number of Ringo's parts. I doubt he'd peddle that guff if he didn't rate his playing...!
  13. I disagree with most of what you say, but will concede that George was a.. lazy guitarist. The rooftop concert. The 'All You Need Is Love' solo. Even McCartney and Lennon eclipse him at the end of the Abbey Road medley. But he was a bit off-the-wall, influenced the direction of the band and wrote handful of classics. I strongly disagree re: Ringo. Even Bernard Purdie rates him enough to try to steal his credit. McCartney's 'twee' stuff often has a bit of a sinister undercurrent which appeals to me, and I have no problems with Lennon's voice.
  14. You do, although it ain't what it used to be. And the feedback system is now a nonsense.
  15. OMG that's beautiful. I need it in my life.
  16. Aye, if only more people had listened to me....
  17. It’s maybe a discussion that needs its own thread, but my view is that stickies should be reserved for important housekeeping stuff, whereas content should reflect the activity of the forum. Besides, sticky blindness is a thing - people just skip over them. Again, just my view. And apologies for the derail :-)
  18. No, your terminology is spot-on. Stickies aren't really popular any more, 'cos people are used to searching for stuff.
