1.
Oh, that is nice. Still sound like quiet a lot money for a MM mind you. I'm not saying I wont consider it though so thanks
That's how much MIM stuff is these days, unfortunately. FWIW, the new MIM stuff is great.
 2.
It amazes me, when you see videos like this, that people are surprised that girls can play instruments to a high level of skill. "Girl street performer slams like a pro"? What about the other player in the vid, or is it just because a girl can play bass? Sorry, I'm not a fan of slap bass, but I'm not a fan of sexism either.
Rightly or wrongly, it's a more clickable headline.
 3.
Are they playing in E minor?
No - Santiago, Chile.

 5. Only the greatest small combo ever. Approaching hen's teeth status... someone buy it!
 6. Ah, no - I can see them after all. Hardly practical though, is it? She'll get no sympathy from me when it smashes on the floor.
 7.
Trace Elliot Elf or GK MB200 - both will fit in your gig bag, or even your back pocket!
Is it just me, or is she missing a knob or two? Serious question, btw.
 8.
Nice player I have to say. Didn't plug it in - there was a young fella getting his John Mayer on for his obviously affluent parents... Having said that my attention has mostly been in this direction the last few days: http://www.degiergui...ulmate-gallery/ Especially here: http://www.degiergui...ortfolioCats=20
They're beautiful. That headstock though... what a shame!
 9. The AG500 is a lovely head. I'm can't help thinking part of its charm is that it has a transformer in it. :-)
 10. Hey everyone Just to chip in on this one. Leszek sent this one across to me after I bought my R-400, just to give it a run out. It's a beautiful piece of kit, with the feel of the Mesa M-Pulse about it. I never play loud enough to justify it, but it's got output for days. Like Grangur says, there's info in the Handbox thread - here's some more pics, etc:
 11.
I say good on you to those with eagle eyes and willingness to travel to source a bargain..............
...or maybe point and laugh when they drive all the way there to find out it's a scam.
 12. Eeeh.. I remember the days when it were nowt but 10 weeks...
 13. Wow. With it being Thurso I initially thought 'scam'. But he's keen on it being collected, so I guess not.
 14.
G.L.W.T.S this for myself is' one of the Best' Outboard preamps on the market.. Nothing in its price range comes close.. a multi tool with a beautiful Natural uncolored sound.
Yep - it leaves the SansAmp in the (scooped) dust.
 15.
Me neither. The concept of signature instruments seems nuts to me. Are we to believe we'll be able to play like the 'name' player? I'd buy a sig bass, but only if I liked it. The associated name is irrelevant. For example, I liked the Dee Dee Ramone bass, not because of him, but because it seemed like a nice bass...
Great instruments like the TF and the Roscoe Beck wouldn't exist without the association of the named players.
 16. Nice score! Praise be for eBay auctions and Gumtree ads with terrible photos. It's the only way to get a bargain these days.
 17.
??? Why wouldn't it be?
I thought it polite to ask.
 18.
Duck thought so. So seemingly did a bunch of other musicians and producers on both studio dates. Plus, it sounds absolutely fine as a note choice within a great groove. I reckon that means it's appropriate.
Absolutely. But it doesn't sound fine as note choice to me, so I thought I'd open it up to see what other people think. And I think it's continuing to be an interesting discussion. Is that OK with you?
 19.
What a load of rowlocks this thread is! Does it matter? Listen to the music, forget the bl**dy theory and remember how many of these records were listened to, sold and enjoyed over the years...
Lighten up, man. It's just a bit of discussion. And believe me, I'm the last person to get hung up on the theory :-)
 20.
That was a pre first cup of tea post. Sorry.
No problem - I'm always happy to be corrected :-)
 21.
Being pedantic. . . . at the time we called it Soul Music. R&B was a totally different thing.
Fair cop.
 22.
Yes, but that doesn't mean the latter opinion is either informed or viable. I can understand if folks think the post sounded harsh - but there's a bigger musical world out there happily containing and accepting much more colour and dissonance than, as NeilP said, the very slight dissonance Duck laid down on this track.
Thanks for the advice, but I’m familiar with harshness, colour and dissonance. I’m questioning whether this instance is appropriate in an r’n’b classic :-D
 23.
It's fine by me. Ever so slightly dissonant, but I suspect that;s deliberate to emphasise the key change. I your ears really can't tolerate that level of dissonance, I suggest you stick to Stock, Aitken and Waterman. It's the spice that makes music, IMHO
That's canny insulting, TBH. One man's 'dissonant' is another man's 'What the heck did he play that for?'
