For my money, I'd go for Maruszczyk (for general greatness) or Limelight (which I'd buy again if I could specify a weight). The P neck on my old Limelight Jazz felt wonderfully worn-in, with rolled edges.

Generally speaking I - and the people I work with - know if it's working or not, without needing to refer to recordings. That said, I sometimes work with people who are (diplomatic hat ON) less experienced, and I think some of them would benefit from hearing them.

IMO (of course) I really wanted CA to be a great return to form, but I was disappointed. The mix is fussy, and the songs are flabby.

They should let it go IMO. Geddy's voice is - sadly - finished, and IMO the good songs stopped coming a while ago.

[/quote] Out of interest, what are you seeing? when I A/B my Jakes and '71 P's, the main visual difference I can see is that the pickguard on the lower horn of the Jakes is rounder than the P's. Apart from that, the Jakes have more of a scoop to the lower cutaway, and that's pretty much it...
