1. SOLD. Thanks for the interest :-)
 2.
Ooh! I like the look of those Elwoods! I do like a zero fret, too. Does he do edge bound necks, does anybody know?
By 'edge bound' do you mean normal binding? If so, yes...
 3. I've got two passive PJs, both of which are pretty silent. One has a split-coil J at the bridge - if I back off onto that, I need to nudge the amp to compensate. The other has a fat humbucker at the bridge. When I back off to that, I don't need to do anything to the volume. It's a beast. Maybe you need to go down that route?
 4.
So are these Shorelines basically a USA neck on a Skyline body?
It's an alder body. Skylines are ash.
 5. Now I know who Steve Wishnevsky copped his designs from...
 6. Here's a song from when we were on the telly a few weeks back: https://vimeo.com/170270945
 7. Teesside, according to the ad...
 8. Hi all I've got a small queue of interested buyers, and I'm just working out a shipping cost for the chap at the top of the list. If it doesn't happen, I'll be in touch with the next... WoT
 9.
And I think we may have a winner with the MX49. Thanks to everyone for their input. <><Peace
You're welcome. FWIW, Mrs. WoT got hers for £200 on eBay. Presumably there are similar bargains to be had on your site of the watter :-).
 10. A cheap option: Mrs. Bailey uses a Yamaha MX49. Small, weighs next-to-nothing, good presets.
 11.
Here it is, 32" scale, matching headstock, and I've called it "Old Thumper" rather than "Jake", which Adrian was happy to do after I sent him the artwork for the logo.
Fab!
 12.
Check your dimensions there WoT. It's much smaller than you say and it might put off a potential buyer. I love mine (exactly the same version as yours) but my Thundefunk seems to have edged it out for gigging lately. I still love it though and as you say, real watts from a transformer power supply. This is a bargain when you look at the cost of a new one!! Frank.
Whoops... good spot! That was the size including the Head Case (which this doesn't have). Ta for pointing it out.
 13. Hey gang As some of you know, I'm a long-time lover of these heads, but it's time for a change. These are legendary heads - compact and relatively lightweight, with excellent build quality. Don't be fooled by the seemingly modest (i.e. truthful) power spec. These are proper hairy-arsed class A/B watts, not processed ICE diet watts. This is the more recent version with the active / passive switch. Theres a small area of rack-rash on the top, easily visible in the pics. The Gigskinz bag is high-quality, a great fit, and wasn't cheap.

Wattage - 300 Watts @ 4 Ohms / 165 Watts @ 8 Ohms
Power Amp Type - Simul-State™ Power - 6 Tube Driven Power MOSFET's
Preamp - Vacuum Tube Preamp w/ 2x Mesa 12AX7
EQ / Dynamics Control - Active Bass & Treble, Passive Mid, Plus a 3-Band Semi-Parametric
Weight - 13 Lbs.
Dimensions - 3 1/2" x 12" x 12"
Collection / delivery around Tyneside preferred at the moment, but hit me up if you want to talk about posting it :-)
 14.
This is why the B rig got used at Cleveland - the A rig was here: https://www.youtube....h?v=pIiyoUZTHNM
Awesome :-)
 15.
Just received an email from Adrian, my Jake will be shipped today or tomorrow depending on when the balance which I have just transferred arrives in his bank account. I feel like a kid waiting for Christmas!
We need to see the sofa shot, dammit!
 16. I've got the Hipshots on two of my basses - can't fault 'em.
 17.
Interesting to read about these amps. There are SO many top quality amps to choose from these days, many of which you will be able to easily try out with your gear in exchange for a short drive. What is it about these particular amps that makes it worth the risk taking a chance on one?
If we're talking about the R-400, it's primarily the tone (of course) but there's also the design and construction which are impeccable. The fit and finish is fantastic - no cheap plastic anywhere - and certainly not something you'd expect in the price range. But to hammer the point home... the tone is the first thing that got me, in a jaw-drop kind-of way. Hopefully a few more will work their way across to the UK to give people a chance to try 'em - they deserve an audience.
 18. Leszek's just posted a Facebook update featuring gratuitous innards shots of the WB-100 valve head. Again I must emphasise that I'm not technical, but form what I can gather, he's testing an uprated spec featuring KT-88 tubes, and a second fan, upping the power to 160W. This spec will cost more (exactly what, I don't know). I SO want to hear this.
 19.
First impressions; might buy a 2nd one.
Welcome to my world :-) This is beautiful.. I LOVE that finish. And I agree about the knobs - it's the only thing about the Elwoods I'm not keen on.
 20. Seems like a decent bloke. Enjoyed it.
 21.
Just pulled the trigger on a R-400!
Fab! You won't regret it. SO great.
 22.
That's a Sousaphone. Horrible things.
Bonnie Raitt's bass player disagrees at 1m55s into this clip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nid-yKTF0gQ
 23.
Apparently it was done on a harmonica with a lot of processing.
...which, from the sounds of it, was then wiped from the master tape and re-dubbed using a typical 80's synth.
 24. I don't - I'll generally tweak my (passive) tone knob for the song, but the EQ stays pretty much flat. FOH is another thing - a lot of engineers seem to EQ flats as if they were rounds, which is a shame.
 25. FWIW, a while ago I looked into whether a MESA M-Pulse 600 could be converted to run at 230v. The answer was a resounding 'no'. I'm not hopeful, but fingers crossed for ya. I must say though, that's quite an oversight...!
