1. Although, randomly, since it came back I've stopped getting email notifications for PMs and replies. I guess it can only be a coincidence, and it's probably just me, but... anyone else noticed the same?
2. Hey gang Here's a couple of tunes from last weekend's gig. My first run out on fretless for a couple of years...!
3. A pair of TKS Engineering S112's is a beautiful thing. Lovely tidy lows, natural mids and highs. Check 'em out.
4. ...and we're back :-)
5. I did a couple of gigs with a red Jake - P only - that briefly belonged to Warwickhunt, now owned by another pal of mine who has gigged it relentlessly since. It's was beautiful - complete quality. The neck was very similar to a standard P.
6.
Just finished the final, thought Bombskare were really great, as actually were pretty much every band featured. I'd also have liked to hear more of what Kissmet were doing in the first VT of them rather than the song they did on stage. Will be having a search for both bands later. It's also nice to see a programme that was ostensibly a competition place not going down the sob story/'this is all I've ever wanted'/melodrama route. Same again next year?
I should hope so - it seems to have been really well received.
7.
It will. Once the site ends up on the database it can only be removed by your network admin.
Will it not update when the config file from Cisco is refreshed?
8. I can forgive The Smiths for everything because of How Soon Is Now? Fantastic tune.
9. Still happening to me... Reputation - viruses
10.
Lol
Whatcha laughing at? He is / was.
11. Here's where I'm at now, after years of searching. Couldn't be happier - greatest head, cab and basses I've ever had. Nirvana.
12. I've never really thought about it too much - I just use the mobile version, and switch to full when I need it for other stuff.
13.
I was looking for PJ with a big old P neck for a while and there are limited options from Fender, basically all I found was the old late 90's Hot Rod Precision and now the new Vintage Hot Rod 60's precision. I love the massive 50's Precision neck that you get on the road worn but you wont get a neck that big unless you modify a standard model, get a custom build or look at a Mike Lull.
My PJ has a chunky neck. And they would have made it even bigger if I'd asked... far cheaper than a CS or Lull, too.
14.
I love the sound of the bass on Lindisfarne FOTT album , I'm guessing it's a fretless P but I really can't be sure ,whatever it is though it's the right sound to my ears for folky rock
Ooh, ooh... I can help with this. It's fretless P. And i can demonstrate thusly: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HgffQn1ldkc
15.
WoT - lovely bass line in the opening of the Caffrey's original song.
Thank you :-)
16. Gah! I haven't seen it yet... I'll not see it until tonight. IMO the best band won it, mind...
17. On BBC Four now! http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b07g9rc0
18. I was yesterday - I'm out of the office 'till Tuesday so I'll check then :-)
19. Oh, it's being repeated on BBC Four right now!
20.
I would love to watch Sting play and sing up close. Love him to pieces! Great player and great singer
My pal is in the band. I'm very jealous....

22. Looks OK to me. Correct left-hooker logo. Dodgy late-70s burst. Gasket under the neck plate. I don't see anything dodgy from the pics.
23. No problem - I'll try not to give anything away..! 1. The covers thing was introduced pretty early on in the process - early enough for us to say 'thanks but no thanks' if we decided it wasn't for us. By that point we'd spent enough time chatting to the production company to be confident that they were going to make a serious show with an original music element to it. So we talked about it as a band, and decided to learn some covers, have some fun, and see what happens :-) 2. Every band played an original and a cover at each stage. So in addition to what's been seen, we played a cover in the kitchen which is so far unaired, and an original at the gig. You can catch a brief snippet of it from the soundcheck in the show. I have to give cedit to the editors - while songs are obviously massively chopped down, they've worked hard to do as good a job as possible. I think everyone would like to hear more of the songs, especially the original stuff, but the commercial pressures of the modern world wins. 3. The production company were keen to film the bands in their usual environment.. so they got us in Phil's kitchen 'cos that's where we rehearse! Mind you, I don't think they were prepared for a tiny Northern kitchen. The crew got a bit of a shock when they squeezed in through the door. Hooky and Rhod were sitting on garden chairs 'cos it's all we had left. Ha ha.
