1. Reports that Randy's wife was been shot to death, and Randy is being held as a suspect. http://www.tmz.com/2016/03/07/eagles-wife-shot-to-death-randy-meisner/
 2.
Finally decided to contact Adrian about getting a P bass in Fiesta Red. However, after a back and forth it seems his Fiesta Red isn't quite as pink as I'd like it to be, so I'm having to look elsewhere. Bummer!
Ah, that's a shame. It's a pretty red, though. https://www.facebook.com/groups/nebassbin/permalink/631032803664274/
 3.
I enjoy function gigs - doing a job this eve. Can't fathom the comments here about "sh*t music", "hate wearing a tie/clean shoes", etc. It's good money (sometimes very good - a damn sight more than some poor buggers earn for half a week of graft) for playing music. Even if you don't like the songs, you can look at it as paid practice/rehearsal time - keeping the fingers in trim. As others say, I've played with some great musicians in nice places and been well paid over the years. What's not to like? Beats shovelling sh*t any day of the week. A certain amount of snobbery in some posts here, I feel. Well that's OK. More well paid functions for yours truly if others don't want them
I get my kicks doing different gigs to you, that's all.
 4. I agree re: The Lamb. It's great, but a few minutes with the scissors and it could have been greater. Also on Genesis, We Can't Dance could have been just about a decent single album. SImilarly, Eagles: Long Road Out of Eden. There's nearly a single LPs worth of good tunes on it. Nearly. TBH, most of the doubles I listen to these days are live albums.
 5. I guess my issue with the whole thing is that the whole scheme is fuzzy, misunderstood, and open to exploitation.
 6.
I've seen this before, its pointless and a bit stupid really and here is why, the sticker is purely for users of the kit to see visually that its in date it MUST be accompanied by an actual certificate giving the full details of the item including the earth type, the certificate MUST show the company name and contact details on it. Ok that's the paperwork side of it who cares you ask? Well EVERY band who's kit I have tested at least one item was found and repaired, many of our mass produced amps and musical kit have metal casings and high voltage transformers inside, often the only protection from a fault is a small ring terminal crimped to a banjo washer or bolted to the chassis, the bolts vibrate loose as do the locking nuts just like the ones on bass control pots so the earth is lost, any voltage trying to leak to earth (which is normal to a certain level) goes straight up your instrument lead and to your earthed bridge and strings, enjoy your ebay stickers though :-) As a minimum a continuity test from the earth pin of the plug top to the chassis of the amp is worth doing, then check every iec lead from earth to earth, my own band used to get some terrible hum it various venues, when I tested our own kit I found a lead with no earth present, this was the cause of the hum and really dangerous when used to feed a PA system, life threatening really regardless of need or legality.
OK, I'll take the risk. I'd like to make an observation, though - IME the people who go on about the importance of PAT testing the most are the people who get paid to do the tests.
 7. It was a beautiful day, the sun beat down I had the radio on, I was drivin' Trees flew by, me and Del were singin' Little Runaway I was flyin'
 8. I've been asked once, so I bought some stickers off eBay. It's a joke.
 9. I do them just often enough to remind myself why I don't do them more often. Long days, dress trousers, shiny shoes, Sex on Fire... it's not for me.
 10.
Wowsers! What sort of character does the pickup have?
I'm guessing it sounds a bit like this... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aQEira_p6gU
 11. Steve bought a bass of mine recently. The transaction was friendly and straightforward - a pleasure!
 12.
Saw an interview with Neil Sedaka on BBC4. He said that the moment the Beatles (and the Stones) arrived his career and many others like him (Connie Francis, Pat Boone etc) just stopped! Dead. From earning huge amounts of money (in those days) he ended up touring northern working mens clubs in England which were not for the weak minded. His experience was that the Beatles impact was enormous in the US and changed everything for ever! And he should know cos hes a pretty smart fella.
Same for the likes of Lonnie Donegan. Almost overnight, panto beckoned.
 13.
after being soundly thrashed for expressing the opinion that there wasn't much difference between a front pickup Jazz and a precision (a little impetuous on my part) at last nights gig I used my Squier Jazz for the first half and my MIA P for the second half, I asked the drummer if he could tell any difference to which he replied "the first one was a lot louder" I suppose he means it cut through better, which did piss me off a bit, the Squier Jazz cost £150 the MIA P £850
Don't worry about it. He's a drummer, so his hearing is ruined.
 14.
What he's clearly doing right is that nobody notices him. He makes the "star" sound great and doesn't attract attention.
He stands out more than most. He's a charismatic, sparkly dude.

 16.
Hi Everyone, Had one of the Adrian`s Basses and It was LOVELY bass except this: And Just wonder Am I just bad luck guy or what? Around 90% of frets sticking out off the fretboard. Thanks, Tomas
Ouch. Did you speak to Adrian about it?
 17.
Are they going to be at the LBGS? I might be joining this club soon but I'd like to try the Jake basses first if at all possible. Also - and this is a small point - I'm not a fan of the 'jake' name and the general graphic appearance of the headstock, do you guys think it would be naughty to ask for a plain headstock, or one that has my own artwork on it?
Yeah, the headstock logo does seem to be quite divisive. I don't mind it - the font is close enough to the TV logo to keep me happy.
 18. I've just emailed Adrian to change my spec for the millionth time. He's sent a very patient and understanding reply, even though I know he's actually sticking needles in an effigy of me.
 19. I think we should have sub-forums for different colours. I jest of course. It's fine as it is, given the limitations of the software.
 20. That's really pretty. I placed my order a couple of days ago, and I'm fighting the urge to tweak the spec already...
 21. There's too much info and chatter in the ad. Chop it down, and save the chatter and finer details for when you have a natter on the phone.
 22. Guy Pratt posted on FB yesterday that he was the bass player all the way through rehearsals, as GAD couldn't make it until just before showtime. That must have been frustrating....!
 23.
Why on Earth should he have to chase it up? He should only have had to ask Warwick once to correct their error.
I honestly don't think an incorrect colour pickguard is going to be top of the list for Warwick CS, and I'd expect to have to nudge them along for something like this.
