1.
Sounds like the Doobies on backing vox
...and you'd be right.
2.
Ah, but your last few cabs have been pretty low-mass!
They've also been happy mediums, with ceramic drivers :-)
3. I prefer the happy medium - Walkabout / AG500. Car radio amps just don't float me boat.
4. I got a couple of these which were great, but I just palm mute now.
5. Oh, it did. I just switched it off. (It's Monday. I'm confused.) :-)
6. Yip. There's something about the module that doesn't sound nice to me, so I find it hard to get excited about new Class D's. I'll be back on board in a few generations' time, hopefully.
7. I could really fancy this myself..! I had so much fun with the tweeterless version I had for a while.
8. An IBAN transfer directly through my bank is £4, and the money lands in Adrian's account within 24 hours.
9. Random observation: Here's the UK chart the first time the Beatles appeared in it. 'Love Me Do' must have sounded like something from outer space. As for their early songs being 'boy loves girl' - absolutely right. But as someone who was there when it all happened pointed out to me - the knowing swagger in the first line of 'Saw Her Standing There' was new, and also marked a culture shift. 'Well she was just seventeen / You know what I mean...?' I wasn't around when it happened, but I can totally see Blue's POV. That's not an endorsement of your approach, BTW :-)
10. Aren't they great? We need a Little Feat appreciation thread on BC. So here it is. Get involved. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6dXxZNsg8ew
11. This is the P I had with a Bartolini in it. Loads of life... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BEyjx9sUyYQ
12.
I'm hearing a lot about this manufacturer on BC, but I don't personally know anyone who has one. I assume that as there are 23 pages devoted to them that they are the real deal? I have to say their website is littered with eye candy at good prices. There are three or four I would have a hard time choosing between. Someone please tell me it's too good to be true
I've been banging on about them to the point where I've probably sounded a bit obsessed. I feel a bit better now a few people have them - at least I know I haven't been imagining it. :-)
13. If the monitors are 'proper' pro standard, you can rely on those. Also, don't let the band's volume spiral out of control just because it's a big venue. Keep it controlled.
14.
What are you going for? I take it your white one sold? (I didn't see if you mentioned it in the thread or not!)
Yep, it's in-transit to its new owner. I'm trying to be adventurous with the new spec, but I know what I like so the apple might not fall far from the tree. We'll see.
15. I'm about ready to order - I just need to man-up and commit to a couple of tweaks in the spec. I CAN'T TAKE THE PRESSURE!
16.
I would echo this, the Haeussel Precision pickup in mine is warm and vintagy, very much like my '71 Precision. The Humbucker is hotttttt, but sounds brilliant. Si
Is your humbucker a Haussell too, Si..?
17.
As for Adrian's shop, I've never seen so much bass stock! Wow, just wow!
Aye... I wonder how the WoT family would feel about a holiday in Germany this year...?
18. My Haussel-laden PJ is warm and vintagey, exactly as Adrian said it would be. My Maruszczyk-wearing Oly (which has just been put in a postbox, on its way to its lucky new owner) is hotter and more aggressive. And the bridge humbucker burps like a monster.
