1.
I would echo this, the Haeussel Precision pickup in mine is warm and vintagy, very much like my '71 Precision. The Humbucker is hotttttt, but sounds brilliant. Si
Is your humbucker a Haussell too, Si..?
  2.
As for Adrian's shop, I've never seen so much bass stock! Wow, just wow!
Aye... I wonder how the WoT family would feel about a holiday in Germany this year...?
  3. Beautiful.
  4. My Haussel-laden PJ is warm and vintagey, exactly as Adrian said it would be. My Maruszczyk-wearing Oly (which has just been put in a postbox, on its way to its lucky new owner) is hotter and more aggressive. And the bridge humbucker burps like a monster.
  5. Beautiful. I want that neck flame on my new one.
  6. My word. I have to go there... And that J is beautiful. Congrats!
  7.
I'm in the market for a fretless and these are beautiful! Only seem to have fretted on the website though? Incredibly silly question .... How do you pronounce Maruszczyk?!
'Ma-roosh-chick'...

Fretless
Fretlesses
Fretless
BONKERS fretless
Fretless
...etc :-)
  8. I picked up a '71 a while ago that had a Bart P pickup in it. It was scrumptious - so woody, with loads of character. I shouldn't have sold the bass, really.
  9.
Today Afternoon, I'll go to Aldenhoven, to visit Adrian in his Showroom. Maybe I'll take my Camera with me, and to be prepared an empty Basscase.
Great! Send my regards, and - if you do requests - can you take pics of some Lake Placid Blue basses, please? Thank you!
  10.
Here is one based in the USA. http://www.redbubble...usel_collection
Wow. Do people actually wear this stuff?
  11.
No such thing!
Correct (apart from BC tees, of course).
  12.
I have some quick 15seconds videos of my custom Jake on my Instagram if you want a little idea (headphones needed). https://www.instagra.../simonrpoulton/ Si
Fab! I'm just putting the spec together for my next custom :-)

    Outlaw Man

Great line. Randy's a massively underrated player. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9mW0mu31rco
  14.
Everybody in Tap played bass on Big Bottom. Blue
Apart from the drummer and the keyboard player...
  15. FWIW, they seem to come with placky film on the pickguards. Peeling it off adds to the experience :-)
  16. How could I forget Stephen Stills? Bass on the first CSN album, and occasionally at their gigs.
  17. Levon Helm played bass in The Band sometimes.
  18.
Point taken re Duke. It's also worth remembering this was 1980 and the dinosaur bands had been given a caning through the punk years. Any mention of concepts was unwise. All explained in the Duke interviews available on YouTube.
Genesis thread derail alert: Yep - I always thought 'Burning Rope' from ATTWT was a commentary on the onset of punk.
  19. I swear, if Fender, Lakland, Sandberg et al. aren't bricking it right now, they should be.
  20. They look unfinished IMO. It needs something on there...
  21.
Speechless
My God!
  22. Here' a few more Americana concept albums... Desperado - Eagles Chavez Ravine - Ry Cooder (lots of Ry Cooder stuff is, actually) Jesse James & White Mansions - Paul Kennerley All great albums, IMO.
  23. Here's some audio of it in action from a gig last weekend. It's a few snippets of tunes showing the range of tones you can get from those lovely pickups... the currency conversion is creeping out of our favour too, so this is an even better saving on new :-)
