Maruszczyk. Building Fenders that Fender should be building, but better quality and for less money. They should be very afraid.

Mine was this side of a grand, which still blows my mind a little bit.

No harm getting the stuff into the best possible shape and selling it to people who want to buy it. (I won't be, btw).

IMO if MJ had done this, most of the track would have been recorded by a band.

Could it possibly be the result of a combination of the speakers being nearer your ears, and the extended lows of the FOH?

I haven't read the whole thread so I'm probably lacking context, but I've had basses fail on me at gigs twice. Once years ago, and most recently a couple of weeks ago. Both times I didn't have a spare, and both times I looked like an idiot to band and punters. (The last one was a simple cause - a wire pulled off the jack socket when the nut had worked loose over time. Just one'o'them things.)

Just curious: what's the reasoning behind the 33" scale? Does a single inch make quite a difference to the playability? I have virtually zero experience playing anything other than 34"...

There's a post on TB suggesting that the power module in these might be the [url="http://www.talkbass.com/threads/fun-with-ice-modules-the-new-700asc.1107755/"]ICEPower 700ASC,[/url] which is next-generation compared to the Genz, Aguilar, Demeter, Tecamp, TC and GK stuff we're familiar with. If it is, I might be interested.

Hmm... apparently the Demeter uses the same B&O module that's in many of the common class-D's: Tonehammer, Shuttle, Streamliner, etc. So it's probably not for me. The new Mesa subway uses a next-generation module, so it might be... we'll see.

Stevie DiStanislao is a mint drummer. Not sure about having a lone gadgie on BV's, mind. That's a bit odd. Anyway, I'm sure it'll be great. (Unlike the new album, which sounds like it isn't).

Facebook and, less so, Twitter work for me. As well as the traditional channels, of course.

I occasionally go with my 'ol dad to back him on a few tunes, and anyone else who wants bass (usually everyone). Even less occasionally I'll go with my originals band to give new tunes a run out during lean periods. Despite that, I've got mixed feelings about them. I partly blame them for knacking up the live scene a bit. It's an easy option for pubs.
