1.
That's why I'm thinking about it! I'm wondering if rosewood is lighter than maple, or whether block inlays weigh less that the wood they carve out to fit them! And if a jazz neck shape, being slimmer, would save a few ounces!
To be fair, I asked for a weight of around 8.5lbs. So if you specify 7lbs, it'll probably come out at around 5.5lbs :-D
2. Mine is 7.2lbs.
3. Yep - it's a Q3.
4. Still lovin' mine... http://youtu.be/i03gdUnWrrE
5. Here's a clip from my gig last night of my tweeterless S212. I get enough highs off it for my needs, but YMMV. http://youtu.be/i03gdUnWrrE
6. I don't regret mine one jot - I'm still in the honeymoon period six months later. And I'll probably get another soon. My poor, dusty, '71P. :-(
7. If you can ship it, Dave Wilson is one of the best in the biz. If you're not on Facebook, let me know and I'll hook you up.
8.
Mine has just arrived...not posted photos for a while so let's hope this works... S212 without tweeter with Oxblood cloth.
Beauty! Sorry to hear Tommy's been non-responsive. That's unusual.
9. Ah, man. RIP.
10. Have you tried this? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9E_tNz4QMIw
11.
... and in your case, regardless of the power unit used - what would it do that the walkabout doesn't?
That's a very good point. I guess not - I'd be changing for the sake of it, really.
12. Probably sensible. The logic for me going without stemmed from my previous experience with tweeters - on my Bergs, for example, dialling out the tweeters left the crossover in the circuit, and I always felt it affected the natural roll-off of the drivers. Whether it's the same with the TKS I don't know, but as there's no crossover in there, I know the drivers are getting the full range.
13. They were bloody dangerous.
14. It's a great clip - it's popped up in here just recently.
15.
Since this amp is the among the very first releases to use the newest ICE module, your wait should only be five years or so.
Heh... yeah, that's the problem. I dunno - I might really like this when I hear it, but (as we've chatted about via PM) it needs to be a real advance from what I've heard already to ring my bell...
16. I admit I'm tempted by this, but from what I've read there's been no great advance in the spec of the power section, so.. I think I'll hang on for the next generation of modules to come through.
17. I have no issue with him playing around with the groove and going nuts, but his timekeeping is pretty shoddy in places.
18.
At least he can play more or less in time, which is a huge plus if you ask me.
It's the 'more or less' bit that surprises me...
19. It's a promo. It's about showing off. it's a good idea and it's well shot. But he's all over the shop. In the end I wasn't sure wether to listen to the drum part or the backing track.
20. I wonder if the power section is one of the usual ICE modules everyone else uses at the moment..?
21. Yep - one nicely responsive page is all you need.
22. Just go to Maruszczyk and get it over with...
23. A great, distinctive groove courtesy of Fleetwood & McVie. Who cares if it's the same all the way through? What a tune!
