  1. I’d argue that’s Dave. As much of a fan of him as I am.
  2. Sorry - better link: https://liveforlivemusic.com/news/roger-waters-update-animals-mixes-teases-memoirs/

  4. Hi has, and - going even more OT - he won't do any Genesis, which makes me sad.
  5. I know the band were never happy with the mix, so presumably the new mix is more in line with what they were aiming for. It certainly sounds tougher and more '1977'.
  6. Interesting - the 2018 mix has brought it to life for me. It’s much more present.
  7. James Guthrie's long-awaited remix is finally out on streaming platforms and actual physical circles, and it's a revelation. Sheep is astonishing, and the bass part (whoever played it) on Pigs x 3 is marvellous. Check it out... https://pinkfloyd.lnk.to/Animals2018Remix
  8. Yeah, your needs are somewhat more complicated than mine. I generally turn up, set up (bass > amp > cab - no pedals), soundcheck, then… go for chips.
  9. Got an amp that doesn’t colour my tone too much at all, and it’s a good match for my cabs. Happy with that.
  10. Fair point, but there does seem to be a long-lasting trend to bake in a ‘smile’, which all-to-often (IME) you can’t overcome. Curious as to why.
  11. Thanks for that. It doesn’t match my experience…
  12. No, they weren’t consistent, but they still aren’t in 2022 and weren’t in 1963 (I’ve played some early 60s stinkers).
  13. Because, as mentioned above, sometimes the baked-in shape takes out good stuff you can’t put back. BTW, I still maintain that - assuming the plot I’ve been sent is accurate - flat on my head works perfectly for my basses, cab, and musical context.
  14. Yeah.. people say the early TVs was a dodgy period, but it's not really been my experience. I don't think the rot had set in at that time.
  15. Not sure the TV’s were particularly low-quality. QC issues were more apparent from about 75-on, I’d say..?
  16. Absolutely. Problem is I usually struggled to put back what was taken out no matter where the knobs were…
  17. Ah, OK - never tried the Magellan!
  18. I see. Is it the case that Genz and Markbass are flat at noon, though..? I assumed not, because of the aforementioned bakery…?
  19. Apologies - I think I'm missing your point...?
  20. Not sure that's the case. Lots of heads I tried (Markbass, Genz, Walkabout, TC amongst others) seemed to lack those mids.
  21. I don’t have to - I finally found a manufacturer that gives me the option of a scoop.
  22. I believe it's thicker than the '62 RI, but still not thick enough for me. The 9.5" neck radius is probably making it feel even shallower....
  23. It's nice - lovely fit, finish and tone, but I can't get into the neck. It's just too shallow! One day I'll remember that I just don't do 60s necks. I'm persevering, though...
  24. …after a multi-year journey trying a shedload of other amps and tweaking their EQ’s to kingdom come.
