Getting heard is one thing.. getting paid for it is a different kettle'o'fish.

Dad3353 - I don't understand your argument. Generally speaking, while a musician is recording, they're investing money, and probably not getting paid during the process. The reason being is that they're making an investment in that recording, which will hopefully generate some income. That's not an unreasonable concept.

As for the PJ.. I'm a P guy, but I've got a fair bit of work with a function band who do some tunes that cry out for bridge pickup burp. My Maruszczyk PJ has Haussel pickups which are specifically matched - I run it as a P most of the time, but the J comes in handy for those tunes. I rarely run the P & J pups wide open. It's just not my thing.

I'm generally a PC person, but I picket up a fairly new Macbook Air off Gumtree for a great price for Mrs. WoT and it's lovely. Such a tidy bit of kit. I went with my Dell XPS 'cos I can't abide the floppy plastic tat that most other PC laptops seem to consist of. It's solid and well-built, but.. it's just flaky. And that's a shame :-(

Hmm.. I was an early Acoustic Image adopter (for the UK at least) and I recall that having the same lack of backbone that I've experienced with the other heads I've used. The TC was - IMO - dreadful (and I'm sure that uses a B&O derivative?). Markbass I've never got on with, and the only Aguilar head I've used was the AG500 which I liked immediately. but then again it has a lump'o'iron power supply even though it's class D.

[/quote] I was under the impression most of the amps we're discussing here use a similar variant of the B&O module. They may not all sound the same, by they (i.e. the ones I've tried) seem to have a common characteristic that I don't get on with.
