1.
Comments like this are always interesting. There are many so called 'boutique'/'premium' brands we look and we just think really? Cabinets that consist of off the shelf drivers in an average box with cheap backplates but sell for £1k... Amps that have no bass below 80hz? Amps that claim one power but actually produce way less. Amps that say they're built in one place but in fact they are actually pre assembled in another country all together... Etc Etc. But hey it would be wrong for us to start talking about all that. All of our amps have a 5 year warranty and our new ABM Foundation cabinets actually have a lifetime warranty for the original owner meaning if you blow a speaker in 15 years time we will replace it no questions asked. How many 'premium' brands offer this? This is how confident we are in our products today.
That's all fair comment. I stand by mine, though.
 2.
No, it was this other one with the sound samples. http://basschat.co.u...spitfire-guard/
Ackshully, it was this one :-) http://basschat.co.uk/topic/239185-nbd-limelight-63-jazz-medium-relic/
 3.
Clearly some people think the price makes it high end. But that's OK isn't it?
Time will tell. No offence to Ashdown, but it's years since they were thought of as a premium brand. Bergantino or AER might have an easier time charging big bucks for sonething like this. Question for Ashdown - is it manufactured in the UK?
 4. £700 for this is nowt.... how much would an off-the-shelf MIM cost you these days?
 5.
Pop mine in meths overnight and it doubles the zing life
Anything to impress the ladies, eh?

 7. Hi all Stolen from Windows of the Arcade - a rare Fender LTD Edition Sandblasted P Bass (similar to the below - Crimson Stain w/ Fender Gigbag) S/N US14027971, and a Tanglewood TSFCEN w/ white hard case. The perp has been nicked, but he managed to move the basses on beforehand. Any info, give me a holler or call the shop on 01912321356.
 8. Seriously though - do some of the posters here really have to find something to do during the verses? It's not as if anyone is watching you. Just hang out, smug in the knowledge that you're responsible for making people's arses wiggle when the chorus comes in.
 9. I think about what I'm going to spend my fee on. (Actually, I'm one of those people who just enjoys playing, so it doesn't actually bother me)
 10. He did have sparkly boots and a curly wig on at one point. It's a long story :-)
 11.
There's something about it that makes me want to dislike it but I find myself liking it.... I'm confused
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cmQvxfo75K0
 12.
As I said I guess I'm out of touch with what I thought London was about, quirky streets and such rather than buildings that could just as well be in Dubai.
What would you have them build instead? Whatever it is will look modern. The thing is, London is stuffed full of architecture that is quintessentially London. Having it punctuated with brave, ambitious and exciting (and polarising) buildings that replace the 60's cack is a good thing, IMO.
 13. Hey gang Played at a Burns night do over the weekend in a posh bit of town. Unfortunately our singer woke up with no voice, so we had to draft in some subs. Thankfully Tim Healy off the telly was there, and he helped us out on a couple: And Vikk, the lovely singer from one of my other bands, Rosie & the Hips, stepped in to do a big part of the set too: Quite a few hairy moments, lots of making stuff up on the spot, but I think we got away with it...
 14.
Go topless young man, only fit a bridge cover. This, admittedly, is a half-way house but it looks good, allows space to play and you can stick your knickers under the bridge cover to mute dem strings when needed.
I used to be a bridge-cover-only guy, but since I started palm-muting, I've done without...
 15. Bump for this.. thinking of picking one up to drop in a P. Any more thoughts, experiences, etc?
 16. I got treat very shabbily in Norm's back in the day. Not a happy experience.
 17.
Not apparent on my laptop, but if I look on my ipad which has a much better screen resolution the words BADASS BASS II can be seen when zoomed in.
*squint* Oh, aye... damn my failing eyes...
 18.
Interstingly also are the pictures on Fender's site of the Mike Dirnt roadworn bass, and new Steve Harris bass in that the specs state the fender bridge, and the pictures still show the Badass bridge on the basses.
Looks like the new bridge on the Steve Harris to me...?
 19. I have a feeling there's a bit of a complicated story behind the disappearance of Leo Quann...
 20.
Well, this is on it's way to me soon. 63P in faded sonic blue, with lightest relic available. Can't wait to get my hands on it!
Oh, wow.. that's such nice relic'ing....
 21. They're prevalent up here - mostly acoustic nights, although there's a couple of jam nights around too. I occasionally go to an acoustic night with my ol' Pa 'cos he likes to sing Johhny Cash tunes... and as the only bass player I often spend most of the night up there. It keeps me on my toes. The downside is, they're throttling the live band scene.
 22.
My only criticism? The camera isn't wide enough for my liking. I've had it by the side of the stage and it's been difficult to get us all in. However, guess that's only a minor point.
Yep - that would be mine too. It's a good bit of kit. Glad I didn't pay £150, though!
 23.
I do think the title of this thread should be changed, after all, it's mostly down to couriers and not Thomann.
I agree. I've changed the title to something a little more representative.
 24.
Strangely enough, Alex Lifeson doesn't feel the need to make similar arrangements! NP may 'enjoy' a certain amount of fame, but Lennon was on a different planet in that respect...
Lennon was an outgoing people person, and I suspect Alex and Geddy are too. Neil can probably be filed alongside Kate Bush.
