Delays in receiving items shipped from Thoman

OP - was it sh*t service, or a mistake? Based on the info we have: If it was a mistake and they don't bend over backwards to sort it, then it's sh*t service. Until that point, it's a mistake. We all make 'em. -
Me too! But I find the vocals on that Seven Cities... clip very difficult to listen to!
One of my problems with the current stuff is that Geddy's phrasing is as wooden as hell these days. His vocals and melodies just don't flow.

1952 Precision. Probably the best condition we'll ever see. Yours for $20,000. http://mandoweb.com/Instruments/Fender-Precision+Bass+in+butterscotch+blonde-1952/3859 (Yes, we know $20,000 is crazy for a bass / Sadowsky does it better / it's so new it's probably fake or an unplayable dog, etc. etc. Just look at the pics and enjoy it.)

Yup - IMO, they were at their songwriting peak around ASoH.
Thank you for that!
Awesome, isn't it? Ronnie Tutt on drums, too. I've just noticed the bass player swaps from a P to a J halfway through. How extravagant!
I just don't get it with rush ? Always thought them overrated but to be fair I've never given them much of a go as I was turned off by what I had heard...... To those of you who are in the rush camp, please post a vid which you think will show me what they're all about.... Maybe you can show me what I'm missing ? (A genuine request, not a dig )
That's a tough one 'cos there's so many sides to the band. There's not much earlier footage of them around that shows them at their best, and Geddy's voice is shredded on the more recent stuff. Natural Science probably sums them up for me. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u7W0Nm8iHwk
yes yes yes get the J oh and the clippers
The thing is, which J? The fat, authoritative Moving Pictures J, or the fizzy flamenco-propelled mess he's been using recently?

That Turn the Page clip is up near the top of the list for me. Always loved it. The gradual decline started from there...

Paul bought a bass from me - comms was great, payment was swift (especially as this was right over Christmas). Deal with confidence - a top chap!
I've been a fan of Ruby Turner ever since catching Jools and his R&B Orchestra at the Albert Hall a few years ago. It was a good night all round, but when Ruby let rip I had goosebumps from my cheeks to my toes! You can't argue with that, it eirher happens or it doesn't. I was astonished by her talent :)x
Ruby is lovely. I've been lucky enough to back her, and she's absolutely dynamite.
Interesting. I would've put money on the bit of you playing with the female singer/songwriter being filmed in The Tyne Bar!
Oh that? That's the Surf Cafe in Tynemouth. I can totally see what you mean, though! -
Last night the Walkabout sounded lovely through the BF Compact. As WOT says, and I agree, having a decent power supply from a transformer seems to add weight to the notes.
Yup... Once you notice it, it's hard to go back.
Nice compliation video! Great to see some of my old haunts are still going strong (I used to love playing at The Tyne Bar!) and to see some familiar faces who I've also had the pleasure of playing with. If I'm not mistaken, Mr McCrystal has grown some questionable facial hair since the last time I saw him lol!
Ha... I hate to tell you this, but neither of the above are in the video :-) The pub is the Marsden Inn, and that's Nick, not Mr. McCrystal. They do look a bit similar, though ..! -
I don't think that anyone has taken offence at profession musicians playing live on TV. I just think that it's a tired old formula and well past it's sell by date. Just because professional musicians are on it doesn't automatically mean that it's good to my ears at least.
I'm not sure what can be tired about a bunch of bands set up in a room playing live before an audience... What can you change about that formula, other than to add stuff? The presenter and choice of performers is another thing - FWIW I like the guy.
Best Wishes with this Playing with Lindisfarne must be a high, the FOTT album must be in my top 10 , absolutely love it.
Yep - the gigs were great. The first set was the whole of FOTT, played in sequence. So much fretless Precision fun! Here's January Song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lvc1vcFGGY0 -
I'll be putting an order in for a Limelight P soon, and I'm in a similar dilemma. How about... Charcoal frost: LPB: Firemist: ..or Oly'n'Maple?

FWIW, part of the WA's tubey magic is the Simul-state two-stage pre. I don't know many other heads that do a similar thing apart from the Warwick Tubepath.

Here's a compilation of some live stuff I've done. I put it together to help me hawk about for some gigs. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SjSeVpxQVTY

Thanks for the kind comments, everyone.
Really think you should put a contact up in the final frame - just in case (like on here) someone gets to see it outside of Facebook. Cracking showreel though!
I think you're right - I'll rebuild it with something at the end.. and thanks!
I particularly like the way you cut from huge, showpiece gigs to pub rock ... really gives the sense that you're up for anything as long as it's a decent gig.
Yep - that's something I really wanted to try and get across. I've been told before that I wasn't considered for a gig once, 'cos they assumed I wouldn't be interested in playing in a pub... which couldn't be further from the truth. The occasional posh gigs are just the icing on the cake. -
I was alluding to Mark Knopfler (unless it wasn't him?!
Oh, right... Ha ha. So many bald guitarists.. -
What a load of moaning old nit pickers.
It's called discussion. It's quite popular around here with it being a forum and all.

NCD - TKS 1126 x2 (don't look if you hate red)
wateroftyne replied to mcnach's topic in Amps and Cabs
I had to check, even if the measurements were all ok there's always that annoying thought at the back of my mind saying "you miscalculated, you measured something wrong, you didn't take into account the narrowing of the boot entrance"... so until I put them in the boot and closed the door I wasn't 100% satisfied. I'm very pleased to say they do fit nicely, even with the covers and the extra cm or so from the extra feet (which I had forgotten about!)... There is literally less than 1cm clearance at the top now. Phew There is room behind the speakers (as the backseat tilts a bit backwards) where the amp head, stand and pedals etc fit, maybe a small rucksack too. In front of the speakers there is a bit of space, perfect for a Gramma isolation Pad, which also means the speakers won't move about in the boot no matter how... enthusiastic my driving style gets And that's it. There's just enough extra room to be able to insert hands and insert/extract the cabs. The bass travels on the back seat or in the footwell. I don't leave the bass in the car unattended. Now I can park the car and not leave valuables in plain view.
OMG your car is red, too! Are you Jack White?
